  1. Yeah i was thinking the same! There will be a mad rush for back issues
  2. Very sad news, just received the final issue of Earth Dog - Running Dog. Dave Harcombe is packing it up after 28 years.
  3. Thank you!! Its been driving me mad!
  4. Anyone know what this is, I can't seem to identify it for some reason...
  5. Yeah I did this last year. I put pebbles in as they like to put their heads under and fish them out
  6. Now I know that during the breeding season Hobs tend to neglect their personal hygiene but this year my hob is disgusting. The fur on his front and bag legs is caked in crap its awful. Does anyone else's Hobs get bad? He has never been like this before. I'm seriously considered giving the smelly twat a bath....anyone got any tips for bathing a ferret!?
  7. Today's funny sleeping ferret photo!
  8. Still surviving and growing at a serious pace!
  9. If I sell any of a litter I charge £15-20. As said before this is to ensure people are serious. To be fair a ferret is still a working animal which can bring years of working ability, I think in general they are under valued.
  10. When it gets hot like this you get a glimpse of some of the funny positions they sleep in!
  11. Just to update on this. I put the jill with the hob a further two times and finally she is showing clear signs of coming out of season. Still have no idea why it has taken so long
  12. Used to only have bitches but took on a mature dog about 3 years ago and now i would definitely have a dog for the next one. Have to be smooth coat, over 26tts and no more than 30kg running weight. Love racy bull crosses, just think a splash of bull gives the sort of temperament I want which is soft as shit and fussy when you are in the house but a machine when out hunting.
  13. Bloomin heck that didn't take long! Well done, yes it's a Goldfinch. They nest in my rose bush every year.
  14. Sunday quiz..can you guess what species of bird these eggs were laid by?
  15. Its bizarre isn't it, mine is about 4 or 5 years old too. At first I thought maybe the hob just didn't do the job properly but she's been hammered the poor thing and its still the same. Regarding the weather, I would say that would only induce the season rather than affect something like this but who knows! Thanks for the reply in any case
  16. One of my three Jill's has been mated numerous times since early March and her vulva is still swollen albeit not huge but still very prominent. The other two have been mated too and quite quickly theirs reduced to normal size as usual. Anyone experienced this before? She is an older jill compared to the other two but I wouldn't expect that to make a difference?
  17. I sent a few pics of a broken transmitter i had and they said they couldn't repair it so offered me a new one as replacement half price if o sent the broken one back. Presume they can somehow reuse the parts. Really fast response from customer service too, very pleased so far..
  18. Eastgate vets Pickering, think it cost me about 60 or 70 quid 2 years ago.
  19. Numbers definitely lower here in Ryedale area. I've noticed much more mixy this year though. I have almost completely refrained from using the rimfire this season, just a few ferreting trips and some short trips lamping with the dog this year I reckon... making sure there is sport for next year.
  20. Just got the latest issue through the post and looks like the end of the mag could be in sight unless someone steps up to take it off Dave's hands. Its on issue 320 now and it will be called a day at 360 apparently. Sad prospect, hope someone steps up. :(
  21. Has anyone noticed that lefty papers like the Guardian haven't published any thing out the reissue of the licences, they were all over it before but now its egg on face time they have shied away.
