  1. Anyone got a link to one?
  2. Yes she had a litter, pups born on 12 th December 2010, sire was a dog called Tiger Stripes. If i was you i would put your question up on The Working Whippet Forum, someone on there should be able to help you.
  3. Just a wee rabbiting Dog best marker i have ever owned, consistent rabbit catcher all her life, also hated rats, and brilliant on feather, wish i still had her.
  4. Using a locator, and getting it right on top the Rabbit, with a proper rabbiting spade, I have always used the Bulldog, cut out a section of turf, dig out the rabbit, replace the soil, and the turf, then no one should even know you have been there.
  5. I wouldn't go out without one, its just another tool, that you can use to your advantage, i just wish another company would make them, instead of Deben having the whole market, the mark 3 does have its good points, but that f*****g screeching, which sounds like a cross between Hawkwind and Startreck, They say they consulted Ferreter's, on what they wanted, so I wonder whos idea was for that, Regarding putting tape over the box to mask the sound, you shouldn't need to. I have the mark 3, but still prefer the tick tick of my old mark 1s. Cant understand why no other company has gave it a go,
  6. i agree, with the good diet, the only reason i ended up with the Ferret Tone, is, i was given a hutch, and the previous owner, gave me the tonic as a freebie, would i have bought it, a definite no.
  7. i just took my young Dog to places where there were lots of young, which he started catching, then he moved up to three quarter rabbits, i never have went for this droppers, and all my dogs over the years have taking to the Rabbit game., i also had him Ferreting when he was 6 months, just using his nose and learning, watching rabbits hit the nets.
  8. Im the same Albert 45 years of Ferrets and never trimmed claws, but decided this year to give it a go, just taking the tops off, it was no bother, dont know if i would do it again, certainly not in the Winter when they are working.
  9. My Hob was done at 6 Months, and its been successful.
  10. I think we all feed the normal diet, but as i said its useful as an aid to nail trimming.
  11. its about the life of Ted Ingle notorious Salmon poacher, im sure he poached the Tweed.
  12. does anyone have the above book for sale? Dont know if its on paperback.
  13. I was given Ferret Tone as a freebie, I only use it too trim nails, i put a small blob on their chest which keeps them occupied licking it off, while i cut the nails.
  14. I usually give the young Kits a bit of work in easy sets, as last year i was starting from scratch, after given up for a few years, but now having adults, if i had a this years youngster, i would just leave, and give plenty of handling, and let the youngster mature, and be a well muscled adult when facing the Bunnies.
  15. happy birthday, now put away that hanky, and stop the tears, and keep hammering the Wabbitts.
  16. Thanks penny, have stuck the new Jill in with the snipped Hob, will try them together as you say in the Winter, when they are out of Season.
  17. Although being into ferts for years, this is the first time I have introduced an unrelated Jill, with a Jill, as usual they started to fight, a lot of screeching and strong musk, but no blood etc, now into the second day, and no sign of things calming down, still fighting, have my vasectomy hob in other hutch, on his own,as the hutch with jills is larger would prefer to keep them together.just wondering how long it will take, if at all to settle down.
  18. I picked up a last years Jill from Netrigger, Bill does not work his Kits till the following Winter, so they are well over a year old before seeing any action, Bill likes them just to be well handled, have never tried this myself, but Bill says it works for him, think I will give it a go, if i breed.
  19. made the trip yesterday to visit Netrigger and pick up a nice Jill from Bills strain that goes back 20 years, bill is a cracken fella made me very welcome, watched bill knitting purse nets, fascinating to see a true craftsman at work, and a man with great knowledge on Rabbiting and net making, all materials, rings, cord ect is of the best, A wee bumb for Bill, anyone buying Bills nets will not be disappointed.
  20. Run them for years, Beddy X Whippet, BeddyX Whippet X Whippet and bedlington X Greyhound, none yipped, all dogs will yip, if not entered properly.
  21. A lot of Whippets come up as laguna Whippets, Laguna is a prefix, which you have to own, so the only person who can use the name laguna is the owner of the prefix, Most well bred racing Greyhounds have prefixes, say like Westmead prefix is owned by N. Savva.
