  1. he is from Rotherham, he has just calibrated my box and fixed my 15ft collar for £22.
  2. David Arthur repairs mark1 boxes, calibrates them and services. Also sells brand new mark1 collars. £40 includes one year guarantee. David came highly recommended, and said it was okay to put up his phone number. Perhaps this could be pinned. David Arthur 07951286630.
  3. When the Bitch is old enough, I would introduce her to Ferreting, teaches them to use their nose. Although most will take to the lamp, they are not a one trick pony.
  4. It was excellent, I know it was about the Wolves and their main pray, the Bison, but i thought they would have taken other prey, but you never seen any. You would think there would be Moose, or Deer.
  5. Sounds good, the others that sell i think they are £40.
  6. Could you repeat that in English.
  7. A new Mark1 collar from Mick Dadd.
  8. Mick Dadd from Sheffield sells new collars, I think he charges £40. And David Arthur of Rotherham also sells them, but I dont know what he charges. Both, also fix the mark1 boxes, and also service them. I have purchased a collar from Mick Dadd, and its good. this week i sent my spare box for a service to David Arthur. Border Man have pm you the phone numbers.
  9. I have two Jills from different Litters, have tried to introduce but the new Jill, just wants to fight, have tried all different methods, but nothing works, its a pity, as they both good workers, one Jill lives with the Vasectomied Hob, and the other on its own.
  10. she is a wee stouter Bill, she does not lurk about, she canny have shift them Bunnies.the only down side my other Jill and her hate each other, i have to keep them separate. Will be interesting to see what they will do when put in a Warren together.
  11. as it was raining i decided not to take the Whippet for a long walk, and that I would just go down the back of my house, I have a new Polecat Jill thats doing well, so i thought I would take her in a single box, with half a dozen nets in my pocket, and the Bulldog spade. I left the house at 11.45 am, in five minutes the Whippet was marking a three holed bury on the hillside. netted up, entered the Jill, who quickly bolted two Rabbits, dispatched the Rabbits lifted the nets, and was back sitting in the house at 12.15. sorry no photos never had the camera.
  12. have come across, buildings over the years with concrete floors with rabbits under the concrete, You probably will be alright, but I have always gave a wide berth to these situations. I like to be able to dig a Ferret out, if I hit any problems.
  13. All nonsense, the only thing you need is a well developed belly, luke warm water, salt, and a muslin bag. You dont make it in a blender, or under a grill or putting in an oven, or using a hairdrier. not prepared to add how i used to make it, as its highly illegal.
  14. I picked up a Jill early this year, I had decided to keep her with my other Jill,on putting them together they fought, So had to separate. I thought if I left it till Winter when their Hormones would be settled, I tried again this week, with the same result, serious fighting with strong musk smell. I dont think these two Jills will ever accept each over. I have yet to try the two of them in a Warren, so I dont know if they will get on with pushing Rabbits or just fight. I must have been lucky, as after 48 years of ferreting, I have never had this problem.
  15. I get my meat from DAF, usually Beef or Chicken, but this month ive given him a wee change, Beef and tripe, and Chicken and tripe all in pound frozen packs.
  16. When you look at the Whippet Archives 21 inches appears a popular hight for pedigree Males.
  17. I found the whippet to me more biddable than the Beddy cross, he has a good nose, but so does the Bedlington. i know there are whippets that will enter heavy cover, my beddy crosses would work cover like a terrier.
  18. what height was she? got a bitch pup 12 month here same way bred. hope she is a little bit as good as yours was. 18 inches.
  19. Her Litter to the Whippet all pups were coursed haired, slate blue, apart from Snowy who was white, no one wanted her because of her colour, they all wanted the blue dogs. so i kept her, she went to Ayrshire where she was a well known dog. The Whippet is 21 inches, he is only a year and a half, ran him on all type of ground no problem with feet, he has good tight feet on him.
  20. current Rabbiter. Whippet Coursing and racing lines. pleased with him coming on well.
  21. Her Daughter, also turned out a good un. Whippet X Whippet X Bedlington.
  22. Old fashioned type, was a very well known Rabbiting Bitch, Genuine first cross Whippet X Bedlington, photograph taken 30 years ago.
  23. I have always gave my Kits some easy burys in their first year, when fully developed, never had a problem. But this year i had a Jill from Netrigger on here. Bill never works his young Ferrets till the following Season. I have had her out this Season Twice and have been impressed both times working her Rabbits and bottling them up, bolting three, she finds really quickly, and is going to make a good worker. so its worth leaving them in their first year, if you have older ones you can use.
