  2. Some stunning dogs there pal, I no tough decision but which if you can was best all rounder??? cant relay say, they were all decent dogs, if your going for a beddy cross the 3/4 is a good all rounder.
  3. new kid on block. Whippet x Bedlington x Whippet.
  4. I may just have been lucky, but over the years ive worked all three, the first cross, the three quarter and a pedigree whippet, and all three have been decent rabbiting dogs, that would put bunnies in the bag. first cross Whippet x Bedlington.
  5. Was delivered today, Sire Whippet dam Bedlington x Whippet. Sire strong well muscled Ped Whippet Mike Brown bred. 23 inch 100% on quarry. Dam excellent ferreting bitch. Pup now 9 wks, weighed 11 lbs at 7 wks.
  6. my young dog just turned two years old sadly no longer with me, due to a tragic accident, sorely missed. was turning into a good ferreting companion.
  7. As above must be devastating for you, but your health comes first.
  8. Where you getting the hutch CJ. I would design the hutch with the roof and sides extended so you don't need to bother with covering the cage fronts. Same joiner that made my kennel LC, he can make anything, does a really good job. i need a plan, thinking about 6ft long two tier.
  9. Nah Bill not breeding, will be too busy playing with the pup.
  10. clear pvc with brass eyelets to put string through.
  11. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300892154478?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2648 Thinking of getting a new joiner built ferret hutch, will be outside and therfore will face the elements, especially rain, looking for some thing to cover the mesh. but not the type that covers the whole hutch, do you lads think this would do, or any ideas?
  12. Opinals are cheap and keep a good edge, i like the stainless steel one
  13. I stand corrected, I thought boiled bones would also splinter, Feeding your Jukel is a minefield of discussion. We all have our different methods, some of us have a lot of times in our hands, some are a lot busier. It all depends what works for you. I have seen decent dogs working that were BARF fed, but I have also seen good uns that had nothing but complete.
  14. I can remember years ago I could walk up the main road back to my Village, Dog in one hand Hare in the other, and get cars passing that knew me, giving me a wave, and a peep of the horn, changed days. always have been mainly a Rabbiting man, and to tell you the truth it doesn't bother me not being able to hunt the Hare. i now like to see them, but they are getting more a rare sight the dogs I work now are rabbiting jukels, but the ban has still affected me, i used to have permission on a nice bit of land great for a mooch, but runs next to a road, i lost this as the Farmer said if the dog di
  15. If you boil, you cant give them the bones, as cooked bone is a no, no. The problem with cooking Rabbit, is, it takes about 3/4 hour, so the meat just falls off the bone. I now skin the Rabbits and using my Opinal knife, cut the meat off the bone, gives you enough for a good meal.the rest go to the Ferts. i just put in a freezer bag, date it, and freeze for three wks to kill worms, just take the bags out the freezer and its ready to feed. You can buy a special glove cheap on the net, that stops you slicing your hand, as your knife needs to be sharp.
  16. I have never got this accidental mating business over the years i have run a dog along with a couple of Bitches, and never had any bother, like whats been said its all about management. I could be wrong here, but when this happens if you take the Bitch to the vet, cant they inject her, to stop her having pups?
  17. And I like to feed Rabbit in Winter months, and soon when there are Flies about, I feed complete. and don't feed cat food. there's a few completes now, especially for Ferrets.
  18. Baw, have ye nuthin better tae dae, than rattle the keyboard. come doon here, and weel go oot a walk. THE DOONHAMER
