  4. This bury was occupied saw a pair going in. you can see the Beddy in him, on the last photo.

The most unusual, I caught in my night netting, was my Whippet X Bedlington, the only time i took her netting, i bantered the field and when i got to the net there was a few rabbits in it, but also neatly balled up was the dug. fortunately, she hadn't struggled, and just waited for me to release, this was the first and only time I night netted with a dug.
  10. years ago you used to be able to put a ferret in a secure cardboard box and take it to your local railway station, you could then pick it up at your local station, but I suppose this service will have been stopped, they traveled in the guards van, you could also bring a dog up this way.
  11. Bill that's a very nice trammel net, your a true craftsman sir. Regards Les Have visited Bill saw him knitting his nets, and yes he is a master craftsman.
  12. Cheers Bill, i never noticed the post, have had an escapee, my hob ferret has escaped, spent the afternoon hunting for him, a couple of sightings early on, but now nothing. looks a cracking net, i have a couple of spare fibre glass poles. neighbor just came to the door a ferret was in her garden, so he was captured.
  13. Theirs a lad on the Working Bedlington Forum who does, but i wouldn't class them as a lamping dog. I suppose if your not in the numbers game, and want to try it, then why not.
  14. I suppose you could use them for night work, but i wouldn't, more handy for daylight work especially if ferreting on your own. a good traditional or preset with lots of bagging should gather them bunnies up at night, and be a lot easier to to take them out.
  15. Try and remember the good times, I lost my young Whippet in a tragic accident a month ago. makes you realize how dangerous the British Countryside can be.
  16. I take a pup out at 7 months and allowed to watch rabbits hitting the nets, they learn to use their nose and work the nets, but mine are rabbiting dogs, not point and go types.
  17. Great news BPR, the bitch is going to make it as you know i went to the same hospital but the news was not as good, and i lost him. hit me hard and i was going to pack up, but I now have a new pup to bring on, which i had booked before his accident. In all my years of running dogs Ive had bad injuries, but never fatal. I would like to than LC for giving me the pup free of charge, I will always remember my wee Whippet but hopefully i will enjoy my hunting again with jack. ATB BPR and as you said, she might make Lowther.
  18. looks like her breeding days will be over, she has been a smashing worker. i take it you will have kept offspring off her to keep the strain going?
  19. hmmm ..... wonder who will end up with one of them Ha ha ,yer only jealous.
  20. I love watching a dog work a reed bed, using its nose, then stopping and marking a clump, rushing in, and coming out with a bunny.
  21. Very very nice, looks like shes landed on her feet, getting a good home, im sure you will have a lot of fun together.
