  1. that wee bit of greyhound in the mix could push the hight a wee bit, and the sire at 23 is a big lad for a Whippet, If jack made 21, 22,, or 23 i would be happy. but you never know when breeding crosses.
  2. yeh i use photobucket, never had a problem with it.
  3. you will have to buy 1 joe <a href="http://s1231.photobucket.com/user/dumfries002/media/jp005.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee509/dumfries002/th_jp005.jpg" border="0" alt="Rag Whippet X Bedlington photo jp005.jpg" style=""></a> Could i swop this bitch for one.
  4. Its long over due on here that Irish coursers and coursers were given their own section, its all getting a bit boring, especially when we don't have dogs that are part saluki, or sired by Lucus or bulldozer.
  5. Theres lots to think about, when starting out, first thing is to get as much permission on rabbit holding ground, bobs post tells you what you will need from the start, Then will you want hobs or jills, my preference is two Jills and i keep one vasectomized hob that brings them out of season. you will need a carrying box, Moxy on here makes different types. nets, most now use Spun polyester, in bright colours, makes them easy to see when lifting, theres a good pinned section at the top of the page called where to buy purse nets, with info on lads that make them. locators, most now use l
  6. Use the search facility on here, there should be lots of posts on all questions,
  7. I get a few Rainbows jus boil and simmer for a short time, remove backbone mince up with a fork.
  8. In this heat dogs just need a short walk to relieve themselves, and the rest of the time lying in the shade, with access to water. the worrying part of your post, is the words a real hard workout.
  9. Pup looking out on to my rockery in front garden. what's he spotted?
  10. Old working Lurchers settle in to a life of non working no bother, the same as retired racing Greyhounds, If you don't have the room to give a loyal hunting dog a good retirement, then don't have one in the first place, And all this talk of no room in my kennel, then bring them in to the house, they would love it.
  11. Try other methods first, and cancel the collar, as above, always worked for me, never had a failure. Just walk the dog through Sheep on lead, any sign of a interest, keep repeating no, takes about 4 times, then try without lead, or you can put a light long rope on the collar, hopefully should be okay, but any sign of trying to run at them a sharp pull on the rope and a no. Shock collars are just a lazy method and should be banned.
  12. Weight is always an issue with me, and I can carry two medium sized Jills in a smaller box, nice and dandy.
  13. Very nice Phil, should be real handy rabbiters, look forward to watching their development in the hunting game, keep me one, will be down in the bus(only kidding)
  14. Any Dog that works along with me doing his best to please, and being a good working companion, if he makes old bones, then he is guaranteed to end his life with me, lying on the couch, its what they deserve.
  15. Just me and this young dog, and the ferrets, this will be his first time working with the ferts this winter.
  16. Give them a go in the Winter, when the cover is down.
  17. As above, good to try them with an experienced ferret, but doesn't matter, if you have a dog that will give a positive mark, or watch for a rabbit popping down a bury, then you know he is in there. don't try big warrens at first, they can come later with more experience.
  18. Had a crack with a top Greyhound Trainer a few years ago, he had a brood Bitch that produced open racers in every litter, to different Sires, I don't think he would have tried it, but he reckoned he could have used any dog, and she would still produced the goods.
  19. You may be better on The working Bedlington Forum, theres a few Lads on there that work their dogs below.
  20. Had a good crack once with a top Irish Greyhound breeder, who had a quality brood bitch didn't matter what good Sire was used, this Bitch produced open class racers in every litter.
