  1. Small type net basket or mooching basket, on sale as ive just bought a new basket, and I now have one surplus, that I wont use. it was hand made by my mate who is a blacksmith, over 50 years experience. it is very light material Stainless steel, wont rust, its made to the exact measurements as Lifelong Cumbrians baskets. it will hold 6 fibreglass poles, so you can have any lenght of net, I used three 5 yarders. The Stainless steel rod cost me £10. Im looking for £20 plus postage. will take 9.5 or 10mm fibreglass poles. For photos see add in the for sale Ferreting equipment.
  2. Lady with the lovely nails, and iron board, not included in sale.
  3. Will have to wrap it and ask destination at post office, to find out postage.
  4. Warm and easy to pull off, but soles are shit, I went down a banking of wet grass and the feet just went from me, grabbed a fence to break my fall and ended up with five stitches in my finger. really bad soles on a quality wellie, could be so much better.

  6. Im fecking sick of running into Bull terriers that want a fight with my pup, this never happened years ago, it was just the odd Alsation you had to watch, but now these bull types are everywhere. Who do these young Lads with these dogs think they are. Bill Sykes. Now these agressive Huskies are in vogue, even heard of a litter of Japanese Akitas X Huskie, in my area. in my opinion its going to get worse, my mate who runs greyhounds has started driving 5 miles from the town so he can walk them in peace.
  7. I would go for the Simon Whitehead book, as its more up to date, it even has a couple of pages on the new mark3 M finder. There's nothing like getting out there and doing it, but Mrs Country Joe bought me it for my Birthday, and I did enjoy it, found it a decent read.
  8. Did you raise it with ferrets? Sorry thats supposed to be ferral Cats
  9. Doesn't always work, I had a Whippet X Bedlington Bitch, that was brought up with a Cat, and although not Pals seemed to have a respect for each other. But she was deadly with Ferrels.
  10. What exercise does that 'pet' whippet get though? Is it fat or just no muscle tone? It appears to have enough exercise, but is far to thin I would say, no muscle tone, has had nothing but James Belloved Complete.
  11. I feed raw Rabbit, but not all the time, I also feed Beef, Chicken and Fish, dogs like variety. So rabbit say thrice a week along with the rest of meat mentioned will not do harm. I also use Gain 20% as a mixer. There's a Pet Whippet near me, who has only been fed a complete of the one brand, started with puppy, now on adult. never had a bone, or any tit bits, and its totally out of condition,
  12. His Nets etc appear good tackle, i just think he is a wee bit expensive, and I know you only get what you pay for, but i found Nelsons nets to be good, and at a better price

  14. The original singer of Showaddywaddy was from Dumfries, he was with the band from the start, but left just before they made it.
  15. Im surprised how often this question comes up on here, as Nelsons name always pops up, cant fault him, good Lad to deal with, sells quality gear at decent prices, there is not one post on here, saying he ripped them off. Tell him what you want, and he will do his best to provide.
  16. you mean the likes of hampton springs cheshire fisheries milton green harthill their just carp puddles Narrrr i fish for 30s and 40s fella (47) Is that a pond . Lake . Pit, or body of water , : ) Dont be silly its a LOCH.
  17. Cb its horses for courses, if you had said 500 Rabbits I would have been interested, but to tell you the truth, after 45 years of Hunting Ive never caught a Fox with a Lurcher, just aint interested. So that number would mean nothing to me, especially if I was looking for a stud Dog. But then I suppose its what ever floats yer boat. I have bred dogs that have, but they were with other owners.
  18. For 45 years of having Lurchers ive heard it all, about keeping dogs outside, ive seen a few decent dogs that were kennelled, but also a few useless feckers. The best hare dog i ever seen pre ban slept at the bottom of his owners bed, and if not there was curled up on the couch in front of a roaring fire, and i seen a lot of kennelled dogs ran aginst this Bitch, and they couldnt touch her.
  19. Chris if you read my post, I did not say they didn't exist, I said I have never seen one working, maybe Ireland is the place to find them.
  20. I,v never seen a genuine working Wheaton terrier, so were would you start, buster. Its difficult enough to find a good working Bedlington, never mind a Wheaton, in my 45 years of hunting dogs, ive never seen a Wheaton working, then i don't even think ive seen a Wheaton, must have led a sheltered life.
  21. Ha ha, up here we always called them big Burys, not Warrens, or sets, a set here was always the place you would run oot your longnet. I have started using the word set to describe a so called Warren, this is down to hearing it being said a lot by my ferreting partner, who being a Cumbrian Lad, I just thought it was a local Cumbrian saying. Sorry for boring you all with my tuppence worth. AND ITS NOT A HOLE, ITS A BURY.
