  1. When I had my ped Whippet I went to try him on the lure, there were a some good non peds there, that had won a lot of top flight racing, and they told me their dogs were stone mad when Rabbiting, and injuries were common.
  2. Years ago I could walk back to the Village on the road carrying a Hare dog walking beside me, cars going by giving me a toot on the horn, and a wave. I lost a good bit of ground this Season, was ideal for the lamp, held a few, but a shooting syndicate came on paying the farmer they were also Lamping Foxes with rifles, and didn't want anyone lamping, so that was it, was told I could ferrett on June, July, August, but I reclined.
  3. I see they do a Champ Adult which is 20% so would suit me as a mixer, but would there be much difference to say using the Gain 20%? What do you think?
  4. If you are feeding Beef, chicken or lamb which is roughly 18% protein why give your dog a complete which is 28% I feed raw but use Gain 20%.
  5. Would it have made any difference if the Coursing clubs had muzzled the Greyhounds, heard this subject was brought up at their AGMs but they refused.
  6. Same sort of thing happend to a family member years back, she went away on holiday and put her wee shetland collie into boarding kennels she returned from her holiday and went to collect her dog and was told it had escaped and not been found, as you can imagine she was not best pleased and took legal action against the boarding kennels and was rightfully compensated, but as said before I wouldn't trust boarding kennels atall I suppose this could happen, I have used kennels a few times, and know a lot of dog owners who also use them, and never been any problems.
  7. Boarding Kennels do have a down side like having to pay £21 for kennel cough vaccine. plus your boosters have to be up to date, or its no admission. The good thing is, your dog should be looked after, and will be there when you get back. I use them, someone did offer to take him in, but you never know if they would be safe, anything could happen, escape, get run over, etc etc.
  8. My 3/4 Whippet 1/4 Bedlington was sired by a 23 inch Mike Brown bred Whippet, powerful beast, Well pleased so far.
  9. Very nice, did you get it from The Working Whippet Forum?
  10. Any one tried the minced Chicken from DAF what's your views?
  11. The British Countryside can be a dangerous place, and any Dog running at speed can be injured.
  12. I put them on tight, and you cant turn them, never had one pass out on me yet.
  13. In my 45 years of Lurchers Ive tried a few crosses, and have to say my Bedlington crosses have been the biz for me.
  14. Nice to see you back Netrigger you have been missed.
  15. Cracken photos nice Dugs, is that the Scottish Borders? or Yorkshire.
  16. I was with Argos, had to claim the maximum after my Whippet was badly injured, they did pay up, but it took a few phone calls, from myself and also the Animal Hospital he was in. Now with Petplan, had a small injury, after claim went in the paid up in three days, good service.
  17. Welcome back Baw, now you be a good Laddie and behave or this may happen.
  18. I put a Rabbit into a bury chased with the dog, put the Ferret in, Rabbit bolted all was good, then ferret came out with no collar, Burys were next to a fence so wasn't getting a good signal, reckoned on knowing roughly were the collar could be, and had a couple of digs 3ft down with no luck. When I returned home I put my hand in my pocket and found the collar, I never had put it on in the first place, must be an age thing. or plain stupid.
  19. Was invited by a Keeper to a shed where he kept Pheasant feed, we blocked pipe holes from building and entered switching on lights, the place was alive with them, there were a few Terriers, Russels, Pats etc, I had a Whippet X Bedlington, a Rabbiting dog, this was her first time on Rats, and she beat the lot of them.
