  1. 50% beef at 20% mixed with 50% dry at 28%, gives an average of 24% Sandy, sorry for being a bit thick, but i don't understand if you fill his bowl with half raw Beef at 20% and half complete 28% would that not give you 48% Maybe yourself and Skycat could come up with the answer if feeding raw Beef, chicken lamb or rabbit and using a dry complete as a mixer, how much percentage of protein would you prefer the mixer to be, 20% or 28%?
  2. My first Lurcher Pup was bought out the Exchange & Mart, a lot of Moons ago, and turned out a cracker.
  3. Look forward Sandy for your answer to the above post, may I add for all that feed say raw Beef, which is I think 20% protein, and you use a 28% dry, then that means your pumping 48% protein into your dog on one feed? a good thing or not, or am I right in cutting back using a 20% protein complete feed as a mixer?
  4. when feeding raw i dont see the point of feeding 28% which a lot of Lads on here do, even though they say their dogs do well on it, I always use a 20% as a mixer, at present Im using Gain Greyhound 20% but Im waiting on samples from CSJ dog foods, will give them a try, although not too happy if they use Beet Pulp.
  5. There's no doubt to be shown the ropes is a lot better, the downside, permission is difficult to come by, so if the ferreter does not know you, then your chances are slim. Do you know anyone from the area of Scotland, you live in, that goes ferreting, if you know them well, and they will let you tag along, then your quids in. best of luck.
  6. How much am i getting paid for being a model.
  7. They are sending me three samples, all round about 20% for mixing with raw, Champ, That'll do/ hi lost, Complete Tripe. And i may give their Salmon Oil a go.
  8. Is it daytime ferreting you use your nets or night work, if Ferreting I would use two 25 yarders in one basket, Nelson will be making a new basket soon that will take 12 poles. and though you only want one basket, I would go for two, then you can get your stop nets in, and what ever type is needed on the day, you can pick from the two, or take the two with you. For night netting, I always used the Traditional method, 100 yarder and pegs in the jacket, means its easier to net where you shouldn't be .
  9. As above, it says it contains a source of Omega 3 and 6 and also is advertised as good for the coat?
  10. They have their problems, the one I had the depth it gave was not accurate.
  11. Yeah we all know that, just wanted a good knife, made by a craftsman, he made me a cracken bigger knife, but I get on better with a smaller, so we did a swop, which was good of him, I already own another of his small knifes, he has his own site, just google Jes Knifes. Regarding why is it that shape for Rabbit paunching, im no Knife expert, you would have to contact the man himself on his site, im sure he will have a reason.
  12. Nice pups should sell okay, if you dont mind me asking, what sort of work does the Beddy do, and how is the Dam and Sire bred?
  13. My latest from Jes Knifes. Model Pocket Pauncher Handle Black walnut, Sheath Ambi Multi, Blade Steel 0-1 Satin, Blade Lenght 2.1/4 inches. 56mm, Total Lenghth 6,1/8 inches, 158mm. There you go well pleased.
  14. BPR, I don't wish to get into an argument with you, but you do need to chill out, okay you don't give a feck about back breeding or named dogs, that appear in peds, yet as been said the BWRA ped of your pup is littered with top racing dogs. You have put a similar thread on the Working Whippet Forum, with the same aggressive form of putting your point across, which naturally gets members back up, then you tell me you don't like that forum, well why use it? We can all disagree with other members views, and constructive criticism is good, after all that's what makes forums interesting.
  15. Sometimes you can be right on top of them, others it could be an arms length, I had three digs today on the one bury, lucky it wasn't deep, I was right on top of the Rabbit, when breaking through, but then moved, gave Jill plenty of time to bottle it up, finally getting it on the third dig.keep at it the mark1 is simple to use. They take a bit of getting use to, I bought the Mark3m, but got rid, I just couldn't come to terms with it.
  16. Don't be silly Buster, that's me on the right wi me best bunnet.
  17. Here you go Moll Is that you on the left Joe , buster. Sorry Joe i missed this...is that a whippet!? Yes it was classed as as a Whippet, and said it won a few races. and run in whippet races.
  18. Once they mature and the chewing stops, and yes mine gets bones, and he can be trusted, the crate gets put away, replaced by dog bed.
  19. As above, most dogs don't like wetting their bed so crate the pup, watch him if he sleeps, when he wakes take him out, and when he does, praise him. I toilet trained my pups using this method really quick, but you have to be more or less with them all the time for the first week, until they start getting it, which was no problem as im retired.
  20. My pup has already chewed two pairs of shoes, slippers etc, and if left alone would have a field day, if going out during the day the max I would leave him is three hours, and he is fine with is, and sleeps all night, he shows no signs or reluctance to go in, if you want to bring a pup up, in the house, and give him the run then that's up to you, I know of a lot of horror stories, chewed table legs, wallpaper ripped, and one Lab who ripped off kitchen skirtin boards. I crated my previous Whippet, and it did no harm work wise or his mental well being.
  21. Dont think anyone would crate outside, would they?
  22. 3 hours Max during the day, at night 12pm to 7 am
  23. Most working dogs have some sort of pedigree, even if it written on a piece of paper, just look at the many named dogs that appear in the Coursing dogs posts. When I ran Greyhounds a few moons ago, most racing pedigrees had Monalee champion in them, and the coursing lines Newdown Heather, and with the Ped working Whippets it Sooty Sam, If I was buying a Lurcher to Lurcher Pup I would still demand the dogs ped okay they can lie, but I would still ask,
  24. if its deff a whippet then, mike brown stuff are supposed to robust type of whippet few lads on here run them, think bit of bull in there make up gens back. Ive seen racing none ped whippets males 30lb that would pile into foxes no prob, i had none ped bitch 20in 20lb great little bitch good on rabbits. But the males prob bit better for any quarry it sees.! Ive seen a few posts on MBs Whippets have Bull in them, is this true, where does this info come from?
