  1. They are now saying the three main African countries where outbreak is at its worst need a lot of help, They have not enough doctors, hospitals etc, but these countries have been receiving foreign aid for years, which as quick as it went in, was out again to a Swiss Bank, as corruption has been rife, never appears to change.
  2. Could be a lot easier for you, to use a basket, Nelson on here is yer man.
  3. Two heavy on the old back, can carry two lighter Jills, that will do everything a hob does, sometimes take out my vasectomy hob, just to give him a run, but prefer Jills, especially if your out for a mooch, small lightweight carrying box and a Jill, and a pocket full of nets, travel light.
  4. that was me, had it 30 years, did a lot of digging, and was in perfect nick, will have to buy another.
  5. Visited the Native American Museum in New York brilliant and its free, highlight was seeing Crazy Horse's Ghost shirt. for those who like a good read. book on the life of Quanah Parker whose Mother was captured by the Comanches, he was mixed race, and became Chief of the Comanche, The book is Empire Of The Summer Moon by S.C.Gwynne.
  6. Middle England will never vote for Milliband, so if there is a no vote, we will be stuck with the Conservatives, a party that is not wanted in Scotland.
  7. It says on the bottle Gaz, Small breed Dogs and puppies 2.5 to 5ml per day. Medium breed Dogs 5 to 10 mls per day. Large breed Dogs 10 to 15mls per day. My Dug is 22 inches, so im thinking of 5mls. i suppose the higher the dose the more you will use.
  8. Does it make any difference to have a 2002 Corsa valeted, when putting in for part exchange, or do garages just give you the book price regarding the condition? think its about £50 for a full valeting service.
  9. just purchased a bottle of ultimate oil, mix in with the raw, and 20% complete, will it make any difference the jury is out, hope so.
  10. a few years ago a stray lurcher dug out a den in a large garden and had a litter of pups, I knew the owner of the property, and went to see the dog, but you could not get near her, she would go for you, showing teeth, he called the RSPCA, who threw down some laced meat, which she ate, and they were able to get to her and the pups. the garden owner kept in touch, and told me the dam and pups were all re homed.
  11. If removing the back seats would it be good to use a sheet of ply to keep clean?
  12. 66 had my first Lurcher 47 years ago, just waiting for those cold months to get out with dug and ferrets
  13. keep them outside find out what corner they are doing it in, and buy two cat litter trays screw one to the floor, so they cant move it and put the other on top, add cat litter and some of their poo, they should use it, mine do..
  14. Recently I was walking the dog on forestry walks, had a lucky escape, saw the dog looking at something on the path in front of us, i grabbed him by the collar, and then noticed an Adder sunning its self on the path, if i hadn't grabbed him, im sure he would have been bitten. Been given advice if your dog is bitten by an adder, give the dog an antihistamine tablet and walk it steadily to your car no running, then get it to the vet as quick as possible, is this good advice?
  15. Anyone know when the lurcher judging will start, and what classes?
  16. On Greyhound breeding, years ago i chatted to a top trainer on breeding, and he told me he had a brood that always came up with a couple of good dogs on every litter, although this would never happen, he said if she went to a grader, she would still come up with the goods, as all Track Greyhounds are usually well bred. When a great track dog goes to stud he needs the top broods to go to him, as to be a successful stud you need to have produce winning top races, preferable classic winners, then you will have more bitches being served. Interesting the amount of pups these super sires have prod
  17. i know this, didn't mention Flapping tracks, some broods just seem to be able to produce open racers in every litter, these bitches are worth their weight in gold.
  18. When I was a Lad, on my local Salmon river, you would see lots of young uns fishing, myself and four of my mates were never away from the river. now, I walk the dog regular along the river, never see any lads fishing, sad really.
  19. In Greyhound breeding you can get brood Bitches that will produce open racers in every litter to different Sires, where others will just produce graders in their litters. Bitches can all be well bred, and have been good trackers.
  20. Will go on Sunday as the wife wants to show the dog, never done it before, have been a couple of years ago, found it disappointing, to small, could go round it in half an hour.
  21. If its for pet try the Greyhound rehomlng centres, the ex racers make good pets, and don't need as much exercise as you would think. Im sure they dress the bitches before rehoming. and castrate the dogs.
  22. I feed a 20% kibble along with raw and veg, dog looks good, stools good. was going to switch to brown rice, looked in Aldis, Lidls, and other supermarkets, but far too expensive. I mix it with the meat, never had any problems, although they do say, you should feed separate.
  23. I know nothing about cars, thinking of acquiring a Jimnay, is there anyway of putting the back seats flat and putting an aluminium cover over, as I would like to keep the back seats in, just looking to take a dog carrier and room for ferreting equipment.
