  1. I would say £30 for the blade its self and say £40 with a basic wooden handle?
  2. Happy christmas and new year Love the pic by the way
  3. I agree to a point. On some of my permissons the landowners dont really care how many I get they just letting me on to give me some sport etc... when its like that I will take it easy and leave a few holes for the dog etc. Get a few rabbits and call it a day. But the permission I'm on now is a small 80acre estate owned my a very rich woman. Very nice place with proper managed gardens topery ect.. the damage the rabbits is doing is unreal, they cannot plant anything as the rabbits get to them one way or another. This place really is overun with rabbits, Ive landed on my feet with it to be
  4. From my experience mate jills tire quicker than hobs. Agree. When I am out half way though the day and I open the box its the 2 jills that stay curled up and the hobs jumping out.
  5. I think its a myth hobs kill more. They just do the job easier and can actually do it without fecking about. I do like jills but mine can be a pain when digging to them as they will often get moved about by rabbits if they dont have them in a stopend. Give me a nice big ole Hob anyday . I also think hobs will empty warrens better than jills. Although bigger hobs can be a pain with purse nets. Happy christmas, HJ
  6. Nice one thats a proper job I would remove the mesh floor and either put it on a hard surface or put some ply as the floor though.
  7. Another perfect probe is a stopcock key with the key cut off. They are tayor made for the job
  8. I make mine from old road pins, the smooth ones. Get my boss to weld them up into a T
  9. I normally arrive at 7.30-8.30am have a quick cup of tea in the car then get going until about 3.30pm. Personally I wouldnt bother going out at that time for a couple of hours. All the permission I have tends to be really big sets that can take a few hours each so it wouldnt be worth it. I might if I just wanted a couple on the quiet but if I was going to a permission, I wouldnt bother. HJ
  10. I caught one identical to that 2 saturdays ago, I just assumed it was in the late stages of pregnancy? Didnt know it was anything wierd.
  11. ALL RABBITS HAVE FLEAS HOW IS MIXY SPREAD BY FLEAS Rabbits with mixy are always far more covered in fleas than rabbits without.

I have just got some, and I am impressed. They are very comfy and almost too warm! I wouldnt fancy wearing them in summer anyway. ATB, HJ
  13. Thanks alot moxy will give you a pm soon. I wont be doing any climbing at all, wouldnt even have a clue. Any chainsaw work will be on the ground. I dont intend to fell in any risky situations i.e. small gardens, i dont think it would be worth the risk. The chainsaw qualifications I have is just the basic cross cutting ticket and I will be doing my cs31 small tree felling in Feb. Thanks LDR as I said I wont be tackling any climbing. Brinsbury has been great for all the courses I have done, They dont seem to have as bigger budget as alot of colleges but thier teaching is great.
  14. Contact Brinsbury college mate, they have funding and are offering alot of courses very cheap. The NPTC tractor course only cost me £25! its a few quid more for over 19 but not much. I think that course is normally around £400 ish too. Ive done all my courses there and have saved alot of money. edited to add; Ring them. They dont have info about the funding prices on thier website.
  15. Thanks for the advice richie and kay. I see your points richie. The reason for me doing it now is that appart from money I dont really have much to lose. I dont have any comitments like kids, wife or mortgage etc so I am in a position that I can afford to risk it. My parents are willing to support me through it with a roof over my head. The way I see it is if I dont try it now then I never will. Again thanks alot. HJ well, if you have no major financial commitments, then go for it, but i still wouldnt give up your current job.. maybe do that part time, & the re
