    My pup for this season.7and a half months old,caught his first rabbit last night.It`s still a great feeling when your pup makes his first catch.

    I see this cross becoming more popular over the next couple of years.They`ve got a lot to offer in lurcher breeding,good feet,good stamina and highly trainable,with huge prey drive.I`m looking forward to see how the alsation crosses turn out before I commit myself.Here`s my dog.

    You need some sighthound in the mix eg whippet,greyhound etc or it`ll be too slow.A bedlington greyhound x collie greyhound could be a good lamping dog.

    yousing a gaurd breed, why bother trying to get one of the above, shurly you would just go to a belguim shepard ( malanois) I agree

    a 3 qtr dog till a greyhound makes 7/8th Read it properly,I said 3/4 bull 1/4 greyhound crossed with a greyhound also gives 3/8 bull 5/8 greyhound

    That dog looks a handy tool.I think that a good German,Belgian or Dutch Shepherd has a lot to offer in lurcher breeding.

    I`ve always liked the look of that black coyote dog Sport(from Nebraska I believe).Ted Walsh described him in his book as the best hunting dog he`d ever seen.Do dogs from his lines still exist in the USA?Was he that good, compared to other staghounds?

    You can`t go opening noisy gates or carrying your dogs over fences whilst out lamping,that would be laughable.There`s no excuse for not teaching your dog to jump,lurcher or whatever.
