  1. The first time I pumped this gun was a few days ago, It was tight going but I got it done, the second time, I struggled to get to 190....Today, I cant get it above 50....Its impossible, could there be something wrong? The pump seems to be very very hard to pull up, and completely solid on the way down, it seems to take soooo much to get it to 50....WHY DIDNT I GET A BOTTLE!
  2. They get a variety, rabbit, pigeon, lambs hearts, venison , pheasant, very occasional dry food and occassional milk for a treat. Its a new Hob as well. Although he has bred with several jills with no problems - As well as a new vet, I may contact some blokes who have the other sisters of these ferrets, because the bloke I got them from could be described as a ferret farmer, might be some genetic problem maybe?
  3. Hi, I have 2 jills, sisters and I put a Hob over both of them this year...The first Jills kits died as she couldnt feed them, her teats where only producing a opaque type substance and werent slightly pushed out as they should be...I called the vet but he didnt care, he just said, could be an infection, and then sent me a bill for "Telephone time" £20!! My second jill is now ready to drop, But her teats are also now producing this opaque substance.....Where as my old jill who died last year, always had milk ready before se dropped and teats where well pushed out. Please nobody bill me fo
  4. Longnetting is (for me) The sport of walking 2 miles to a field, tangling a net beyond recognition, tripping over wire in the dark and getting a hole under my arm from a sharp hazel pole...Then walking 2 miles home again, with the brilliantly tangled net, even heavier because its wet, a very bloody arm pit, no rabbits and a bad mood. Far from the romantic tales of Harold Wynman....But I will learn!
  5. Dog Dealer, I know who you are...Taking dogs from pounds, paying a £20 donation and putting on here at a £250....
  6. Good answer, but everyone has to start somewhere, I just had the chance of getting another Beddy and was considering it asit would be company for my current dog, thats all.
  7. As some of you know, I was donated a fantastic dog by a member on this site earlier this year...He has turned out amazing and the bond we have is really something special, Just tonight I was repairing a net, and he lay by my side, and then as I pegged it out, he walked along and stopped at every peg, he never has been worked along with long nets before and in about half an hour after pegging it out, I was chucking a rabbit into the net and he was running, skipping over the line and grabbing from the back, and then we raced each other up and down the grass before feding time! He really is a spe
  8. I was wondering about giving my dog milk to drink? Shes lying in the garden like a bag of coal all week and wont come indoors to the cool or lay in the shade, I noticed she wasnt drinking or eating a whole lot, so I gave her some milk, which she seems to love and stares at me looking for more after its all gone, Milk seems to be all the fluids she will take now in the heat, But at night when its dark, shes running about and at the water again, is milk ok as long as it not too much?
  9. 10 amp and the fuse has blown to stop the bulb going as well you must have a fault for it to blow. My mates dodgy cigarette lighter in his jeep...It worked fine up until I plugged in there the night before last....Its not the first time its blown a lamp probs putting more power out from it or shorting out on the cigarette lighter What do you mean?
  10. This is absolute b****s - Dont buy it, I have never ead so much nonsense in my life, Just some of the stuff he says: "Set snares 3.5" high from the ground along runs" "Although a blood thirsty creature the ferret can usually be treated as a pet, but never let it be handled by children" "All cleaning of the cage will have to stopped until the kits are feeding themselves" "Treat distemper with crushed aspirin, and bread and milk with TCP added" wtf!! I have never read a more nonsense book in life - Stick to the horror stories Guy.

  15. try doing a search, I just found 19 pages, using the search word "breeding jills" second page in will answer most of your question, only took a few minutes A forum is a "Forum" if everybody continously searched for old information, What would it turn into, a dead old site where people searched for something they wanted information on? You continue to jump onto posts that mention courts, breeding, or other regularly discussed topics and tell people that a quick search only takes a few minutes, Searches wont encourage new discussions, debates or new ideasfrom new members, which is what a

  17. I am enjoying the excuse for a summer thats beginning, But I have to admit, walking my dog in the evening, and watching rabbits scooting into there holes and squatting down as we walk, really, really depresses me, I want to be up there asses with a ferret! Giving the dog a few chases and be up to my neck in purse nets and soil from digging, I am counting the months, counting every day...........
  18. Thats a weird freaky sign.....Voodoo stuff......Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
  19. Thease snares will do the job.its just down to the man whos laying them.sitepatrol
  20. Why though....Nobody will answer why they are a pile of shite, Why would they be any worse than snares woodga or warrener would make, other than the pegs, I see no difference, But it would be nice for someone to explain why....why would a snare with a tealer a fraction wider and attached to the snare by cord be any less useful than a snare with a slightly slimmer tealer, and the wire attached directly to the tealer, I cant see the difference Because they were not made by the "experts" I make my own using 1mm galvanised wire which works a treat, I catch just as many as using tradition

  22. Without sounding disrespectful to anyone, other than the pegs, whats wrong with the snares? I dont see what the difference is as long as the snare is the height it should be and the noose is wide enough? And the tealer doesnt look to be that much bigger that it will cause him much hassle to push it in, correct me if Im wrong, But I dont see what all the fuss is about, Apart from the pegs. I dont see why having the wire attached straight to the tealer or attached with cord will cause the rabbit not to get caugh in the snare.
  23. Sure if there no good you can always sell them on like the others
