    Also would like to add that I have nothing against mb when I met him he seemed a very nice bloke very welcoming and has obviously worked dogs in the past as he is knowledgeable its just im not a gullable man and seen through the sales pitch and decided to continue my search sort of felt like I was being sold a second hand car if you know what I mean .

    I have nothing against anyone breeding working dogs I do however hate people breeding working dogs that dont get them out and work them but will bull shit you when you get there and tell you they are the best in the country and show you other folks photos and take all the credit for the owners hard work also breeding from dogs that when you view them clearly dont even get walked regular .bin there seen them heard the hype and walked away . Far better stuff out there . Less well known but better by miles. Do some more in depth research and im sure you will find some good hard working stock tha

    a dog is what you make it lads not what its made of if its fit well enterd and lots of game for it to run it will perform well a good dog man will catch with any breed because he works it to its strong points and not its weeknesses dont take to much notice of breeding just get out and work them hard they are all good at something and not so good others iv seen some good dogs but never a perfect one they dont exsist no breed is pointless they all give someone enjoyment and thats what it all about /by the way a whippet greyhound will most certainly take 40 a night given the chance id never right

    the one i had was 3 1/4 whippet 1 1/4 greyhound and she did me proud very clever very fast and could do whatever i wanted,iv never seen another one run but mine worked well for me

    they are what you make them mate the best night so far with my bitch is 27 single handed mate and she has just turned 16 months old . shes not had a injury all season other than squirell bites and im happy with that. they cam do the job well mate id never not have a whippet now

    wirrel countryman what dogs do you like, you hate whippets and bullcrosses and it seems its all down to your own bad experiences. not all dogs will be like the ones you have owned or seen. each to there own and all that . why do you insist on spoiling threads? if you have nothing constructive to say keep it to yourself mate why not start a topic about what you work? im sure people will have some constructive critasisum for you .

    with the z type nylon i use a carick then a sheet bend with spun i just use the carick also try the 4z doubled it tangles them a treat

    if you watch your dog carefully it will tell you when its ready to enter make sure its nice and mature and as fit as can possibly be start dropping them from nets and such to get early confident catches and so the dog can hone its strike a bit better.mine sort of self enterd to rabbits on the lamp by slipping the lead wile watching another dog run at about 8 months just take it slow pick your rabbits wisley and if its ment to be all will go to plan some times with the best off everything they wont make the grade

    mine works well so far but iv only used it on a short trip but nice and light and seems good the connector you have to plug the lamp conection ito seems a bit flimsy im sure il end up pushing it through iside the battery befor long but thats typical of deben nothing made to last but for now it seems fine and im sure the price will drop in time .i think by next season il have 2 on my belt there defo light enough

    i dont think its a bad thing having ago at kreet the others iv not come across befor but kreet has gone by many different names around the forums selling litter after litter when do these excelent workers get in the field there always in pup hes no better than david hancock advice is all good but i feel it falls on deaf ears where hes concerned

    well i just sat and red 10 pages of mainly crap and slagging off as usal with regards to the same whippet related arguments my oppinion is if you want a dog of 22/23 inches you will probable be better off with a lurcher from a good working strain but if you want a small fast dog a whippet is for you i dont think buy breeding whippets bigger they gain any thing realy but lose early pace and turing abbility when compaired to the smaller type the only time a bigger whippet will have the advantage is in high grass

    i should think they will work fine if brought on right mate i worked a alsation for a good few years ferreting and he was spot on very steady and alert and obedience was great and from what i hear the police are now favoring the belgium malinois for their trainability

    i use and make spun poly gate nets they work well and are nice to handle at night and a big + they will last alot longer imo

    im just catching up with this topic so thought id add my piece my advice would be you only live once for a short time so go where you want and do what you want and when you get caught and we all do sometimes try to be as polite as you can i have got permision in this way before on the other hand if the keeper or farmer gets arsey and trys to take your stuff dont kick his head in do what they would do to you and call the old bill belive me they wont do you for a bit of rabbiting but they will do him for asult and theft of your kit be just as sly as them. by the way do ask for permission firs if
