thumbhole stock on a regular hunting rifle
lordarpad replied to lordarpad's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
one disadvantage I have seen mentioned was the speed of repeating, ie getting a good grip again for a quick second shot. what are your experiences there? -

That is a Leupold and actually exactly what I am looking at. The ones with the cutout are the VX-3L and VX-7L. -

Hi guys I have been wondering how a low mounted scope where the lower rim of the objective lens nearly touches the barrel will work with a moderator. How are the experiences there? the reason I am asking is that I am contemplating a wildcat mod and a Leupold VX-L scope and am wondering whether they'll go together. thanks Bernhard

Hi guys I have been wondering: double based powders create a fireball at the muzzle because of the extra hydrogen. Now a moderator swallows gas and can at least swallow the fireball of imperfect combustion of the powder in the barrel if it is single based. Does anybody have experience as to how this works with double base ball powders? thanks Bernhard
