  1. this is my wee bitch nae beddy but wheaton but whippet as well so she is quite small might make 22tts the heads are similar [bANNED TEXT] cheeky faces mines a terror with all my other dogs annoys the shit outa my bull x. my pure wee cocker has nae chance nowhere to run and wont hide gives the pup a tellin off an 20 secs later shes back at her the little shit.
  2. thank you hes a really good dog .i really did think he would run of but he proved me wrong lol .just want to prove to my self that i can do it no matter what cost it is keep up the good work its far easier to live with a dog thats well trained. just keep it all a game that he loves to play and gets rewarded and praise. its better when you take him out hunting in due course remember to stock brake him nice and early if you havnt already its very important there 100% with all stock including chickens as well as sheep, lambs and cattle. lambs are harder and no wee ones at this time of year be
  3. set the feckers up mate just phone the old bill an say you seen them trying to get into your house they should come out at least to talk to you bout it give them the reg an hope that they pull them up dont let the missus walk the dogs if she does incase they try a drive by grab.
  4. great haul boys wish i had as many bunnies round my way to get a night like that in good conditions let alone bad ones. atb lads keep up the good work
  5. al my dogs my cocker, lab, lurchers, terriers and pointerx all eat fruit they pick there own berries and my lab bitch raids my nans pear tree regular they have tried sloes as i was sloe pickin last week an they ate a few. my wee cocker eats absolutley anything and never seems any worse i reckon they would eat fruit if livin wild get some funny coloured shit after eatin a load of my mas rasps tho
  6. Take time to read it Leanne, its worth the time......all the best with your dog. thanks wilf i have this book it is p.r moxon and it is good the advice applies to all dogs i have gundogs, lurchers and terriers and the basic principles aply to all breeds more dog owners should read training advice such as this. (i mean pet dog owners) as workers are generally well behaved and do as they are told. we have all come accross pets runnin wild off the lead lookin for trouble and obviously the leader of their particular pack.
  7. my old collie x ripped hers when she was young runnin blue hares in the heather (pre ban) it was hangin just by some skin an a bit of nail we took it off an it healed up an partially grew back but not enough to catch anymore.
  8. i have a similar problem with my wheaton/whippet x ? she is only 8 mnths and she cries as soon as i come home until i let the little bugger out shes fine when i leave its just when im in and she not with me. ive not had too long got her off a mate who hadnt the time for her. have tried a sprat coller but its too high a pitched whine to set it off once she thinks im gone all is quiet. do you think she is still settleing in or just wanting attention.
  9. my lad makes a bit of a whine when the light goes on and he sees his target espcecially if its comin toward us but as soon as i slip him it stops hes just keen to go if the winds in your face like it has to be its nae bother although it bugs me a bit his ma barely made a sound ever even in kennels
  10. looks a belter mate good size for her age by the looks of her.
  11. know how you feel mate had to get my old lab put to sleep earlier this year she was the same age as yours, was my 1st ever dog of my own had her half my life. was the single most difficult thing i have ever done its making me sad just typing this mate. i put "forever number 1" on her grave stone in my parents garden near to where she was kennelled all her life. i see her in her grand daughter every day and i think back to the days out with her on the solway after the geese.
  12. cheers mate i think she didnt have much contact wi other dogs before i got her 2-3week ago an now shes part of a pack of 8 including me thinks its class annoys the shit outa my other dogs all the time had to build new run an kennel for her they wouldnae let her in she was such a pain. my young cocker had just went into the same pen just a few weeks before but dont play as much and the others let her in fine.
  13. i love that idea with the cider as me an her are big cider fans hard to get the proper job up here tho. the sloes are bumper this year near me all the warm damp weather has done them good.
  14. Thats a good price, i`ll check that out for mine later, Mars. check the small print deos it cover working dogs as most dont (check out basc and the nfu) alot of the big names do not cover working dogs as i phoned round alot and found this out dont just assume they do cause you could be in for a shock if the damage is caused through working, pets usually no probs tell them its a working terrier or lurcher and they say no way. your terrier could be in every month gettin stitched ( a possibilty) my mates spaniel cost him a tenner every month i want to insure mine but with 7 its gona c
  15. should be handing out dirty shite to get rid of the free loading b**tards one hit and its lights out the jakie f*ckpigs its mother natures way of weedling out the weak willed among us. ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE. thats how our quarry survives and evolves we are all mother natures creatures at the end of the day
  16. Hes whippet x beddlington,whippet,greyhound..A proper little nutter,Hes very much a pup in his personality at the minute.Hes had a couple of rabbits and a squirrel though.. i have a wee 8mnth bitch thats wheaton whip x smithfield grey and she very immature never had owt with whip in before are they slow to mature my collie grey x bull grey was switchin on by this age is this common wi whip or wheaton bred dogs.
  17. didnt change the charger connect no just that fused wire that goes to the battery two years it could be the battery is buggered, memory damage sounds likely. has it had heavy use in those two years as they only last so long.
  18. for corvids in a larson trap you can make a nest of eggs and they will come to that at the right time of year dead rabbits also work for them all the time in letter box traps call birds best a mating time, cat food will work in cage traps for foxes the lads have covered the best of the rest.
  19. mate i still get ripped off my mates they do just to wind me up they have been at it for 15yrs the best way is not to let it get to you its water off a ducks back mate. i even get ripped cause my dogs are trained well and live outside (let the poor wee things live in the house) i have 7 mate not an option these people dont understand and most dont wanna. some kids think milk just comes outa a bottle they have no idea of what goes on outside the town they think a good night is hangin out outside a spar shop. violence is not the answer it just gives them ammo. ignore the feckers as they aint you
  20. hedgehogs are horrible tick an flea ridden little omnivores which will eat anything they can catch and are are proper pain to get out of a fenn trap.
  21. are you useing a coller and lead or a choker i would try a coller and lead as when the choker tightens a pup will panic as ferreterni says let the little sod drag it a while so it holds no fear for it and take from there. atb mate looks a nice wee pup.
  22. i feed my youngsters twice a day till they finish growing then down to once a day after that. your pup still a bit of growing to do so id keep it on twice until you think it at its full size.
  23. i kenneled a lurcher and terriers together once!! the lurcher bitch wouldnt look at owt bigger than a rat if it had teeth but 2 mnths down the line i buried my terrier no previous, no warning just one scuffle an it was all over for the terrier not a mark on the lurcher bloody good terrier, RIP Lexy. get them seperated an they will be ok outside hunting, terriers are little shits when it comes to their beds, bowls, the kennel space they are standing on, single spilt dog buscuits etc etc.
  24. did you check the neck bones was the neck really floppy sounds like the flew into the side of the pen the lame one probs caught a leg in the mesh, i used to work on a game farm and the little buggers would go mental if they got a frite just strange it was in the middle of the pen how bigs the pen an is there a feathers in a trail toward it it may have just fluttered there as the poor wee thing died. keep the fenns goin to as stoats an weasels love them. atb wi the season
  25. i had the same thing a few years ago up in sutherland it was a family of ferrets/polecats they had a few poults before i got on top of them you just gotta keep the fenns goin mate i used to run them all year. glad you nailed the culprits good luck wi the season.
