Do they play rough and tumble with the dog? bitch or dog?? cheers nightwalker Neil any dog can be good with kids its how you bring them up my old red merle bitch gets dressed up in dolls clothes and played with by my girlfriends niece and just loves the attention shes beardie border and grey only 23tts and great with ferrets (retired now aged 9). if its your first dog get somthing easy to train with some brain ie collie in it, (just my pref). atb mate

    the little bugger needs disipline try and keep him calm arround other dogs, distract him if he start to get the gander up an play with him if hes to tired to fight he wont. hes 8 wk so it can be stopped. as for kenneling with other dogs well if hes a male an on suite on his own is probs best my boys aint patts but i cant kennel them together there fine when there out but if kept together there would be a death nearly was when they decided co habiting wasnt for them at about a yr old made a fair mess.

    cheers mate shes a stubborn little sod but has a good attitude not scared of anything has my big bullxs life when out on walking and courses my cocker and terriers constantly until shes knackered should be running by the end of year as shes quite immature.

    got this 8mnth old pup off a mate who got it as a pup near glasgow he says its got wheaton and i think beddy not sure what else he mentioned smithfield collie but not sure what they look like was wondering if anyone can help its double coated with a soft under coat ive only had borderxgey before and a saluki grey but nowt as small as this its about 19tts at the moment looks like it mite grow a bit more. anybody with any ideas. cheers steve

    if you think cover is limited then put up som tin shelters cut off fence posts have them about 18 inches off the ground make sure there is enough shelters so they dont over crowd and flatten each other also when the ground drys they will have dust baths under them throw a bit of food under they will soon use them. atb mate hope you have a good season.

    come on fellas you know this site is watched ffs dont tell him to give it the stick cause it looks bad!!!!! dont get me wrong they need to know whats wrong and right but ive learnt now that losing your rag and twating them aint the way forward cause they only remember the slap and not what they did wrong. my advice would be get the dog obeying everything you say from sit,stay,off the sofa whatever in general around the garden, house etc and get him to a point where he wont do anything around you unless you say to do it THEN take him out around other dogs and a firm pull on the collar and and a

    i feed raw to mine when i can get it picked up a fresh road killed roe got seven dogs so it was gone in a 1r they just shite out chalk but as the lads say dont mix dry an raw an after a big feed of raw i leave them for a day before feeding again they only get the shats a bit when i change brand of dry. chicken wings and lamb are great.

    they dont like being permantly wet and cold it can bring their condition down and they become more likely to get infections how soon after going to pen did they die, is the pen on fresh ground or the same place as last year and did they have any problems then.

    education of the young is the way to go the antis go to primary schools to pedal there biased sh*t we need to educate the kids so they grow up informed and capable of making there own decisions. i take my four year old nephew out whilst exercising the dogs he loves it, will take him on a hunt in due course. we need to fight the anti propaganda machines with one of our own.

    she looks a nice 1 mate how big are her feet and look at the knuckles on her front legs when they are flat shes at her height i use that as a rough guide

    they make a difference alrite havn 1 on both .22 and .222 and had 1 on the .25-06 i used o have when i was out culling deer you coould get 5 outa 5 wi a mod on if you took the lead hind 1st with out you mite get two at most and they save your hearing.

    i use the canicalm collar they are great my lab used to howl and bark every time i left her, dont bark at all now just sprays air up there nose great device mines was only bout 40 buck can go through £7 batteries. or get a remote shocker you leave an leave the missus in and get her to zap the little buggers as soon as they start. stops it quick smart

    personally i like bitches, but its a personal choice, if your taken to a bitch pup then go for it, i have two bitches permenantly and with work i can have up to 8 dogs in the house five of whom are bitches, as long as theres pecking order, routine and nothing to grumble about they'll be fine, HOWEVER each dog is different and just make sure whichever sex you get that they take to the lil pup,,,last thing you want is to have to seperate the new dog from the pup, is regards to should you wait,,to be honestonly you can answer this,, can you realistically put enough quality time into the lil borde

    alot of the training should have been started when she was small, recall, stand, retreiving. you need to get bk to the garden or similar small place where she cant get away and do lead work and heel etc. play with her with a toy to try and get her to retreive and if she greedy use food as reward and lots of praise. dont try and train her out in the wide open with loads of distractions. wait till she got it in the garden an move to a bigger area but not somwhere the little sod can do a bolt and you cant catch her. all basic training is similar with all dogs. there should be plenty boys in your

    mainly foxes there arent any rabbits around where i live in connemara im on my second generation of my own so only had a few other lurchers but i think ive gor what i want now his dam was beardiexgrey/borderxgrey and his sire was 3/4grey 1/4 apb brains and bottle hes 24tts and would do all but limited to bunnies here in scotland. bit o collie gives brain and trainabiltiy. ive also got a wheaton x pup so we will see how she goes. for a first dog i would go for somthing which wont be too hard to train mate and patience is a vritue especially with lurchers. good advice from all the boys. a

    ok so its gona be a plummber check with the breed societies thers a few but make sure the parent work not just show an i mean work for a keeper or similar serious dog man. you could use 2x2 and weld mesh but mind and nail the mesh to the inside to avoid destruction by the inmate.

    i use a blitz and filter or i have a striker mounted on roof for looking over hedges when covering distances. I would let ya boorow mine :11: howz it goin terri the boys are tellin the truth ive got tboth the striker an the blittz and when i think about ive got the clulite 2 the blitz wi the 100w bulb is the bollocks but not cheap but if you buy cheap you but twice. ive no seen you for a while we will need to catch up.

    she is coming round to the idea, i am at college and working part time. i will be the one looking after the dog and funding it i am capable and we are in the perfect situation with lots of land an most of my free time is taken up doing things where the dog would be useful and used. thanks for your concern but its fine, i have a space to put the kenel/run but just want to know of idea on how to make it, and sizes etc atb rob a small lurcher would ideal mate if there are holes that a dog should not enter then dont get a terrier a wippetxcollie or bedyxwhip bottle brain in a small
