  1. is this for an air rifle or a rimfire exscuse my ignorance. cheers
  2. my mate has a nz huntaway dog and its feckin massive looks like a workin rottie with a tail, would have been a good cross pre ban for the big stuff although noise mite be a factor as the bugger never shuts up whilst workin that how they move the huge flocks of sheep they have plenty power thats for sure.
  3. nice one mate was out myself this am, nae joy wi me unfortunately.
  4. this was not a pointless cross this breed used to exist years ago but kinda died out it was plummer i think who re-created the breed initially as a large hunting mastiff just for the criac, like we had when bears and boar that could be hunted back when robin hood was around robbing people. thing was if they were good enough for a king they are good enough for a skint fecker. there are boar now an if we could hunt them wi dogs every bugger would be runnin alaunts.
  5. these are my boys there about 5 now so know the job two bros who work totaly different the black an tan just has a forward gear but the ginger boy has a brain dont get hurt much but bloody good at gettin a bolt the other you get a dig if he cant manage to pull it out back to me.

  9. do you think hunting if it misses mite be a problem guys and gwp can be very head strong and deaf at a distance alot of time needed used pure pointers on grouse and woodcock and the nose has seen to be beleived and they can be mental. cant fault them for stamina will run all day.
  10. this is my big dog breeding in previous post
  11. Finings are derived from catfish swim bladders nowadays. There are, however vegan alternatives. So the silly buggers can drink themselves into a stupor with a clear conscience. Still have to take Vit B12 supplements derived from animals though. No way round that, that I know of. And before the Anti-spotters get going, no I'm NOT a bloody vegan. Or a vegetarian..... or an Anti..... that was some piece of research i had know idea about half that stuff i love eating meat so its great to know im getting more than i thought. kill it cook it eat it. You just know a lot
  12. if my mums gets stung by a bee her throat swells and she is in real bother if she dont get antihistemine fast get to the docs mate just in case.
  13. there are plenty pics on here pure breds are not for bunnies but the crosses will take them for fun and be guards have a look mate they are great lookin bits of kit.
  14. Same here mate.My old dad.God bless him all way,s told me never run a dog with a collar on and i never have. atb. Catcher 1 i totally agree collars should never be worn whilst workin unless its a locator. i used either rope chokers for my gundogs and leather slip leads for the runners never bought a grown dog just pups but i would take my own lead if i did the previous owner may want it for the next dog they get. plenty guys train dogs for sale especially in the shooting field these guys arnt dealers they are dog trainers.
  15. if noise is an issue you can get ultrasonic devices that stop barkin they cost bout 40 quid from pets at home and they work. some people just dont like dogs especially if they are old and have cats. you never said what kind of dogs you have and are they broken to cat my gundogs are but my lurchers and terriers are not!! if yours are mabye a demo of there steadiness would placate the old bag.
  16. i have seven dogs mate if the house is owned they cant do jack. if she bein snotty theaten to report her cat for killng protected song birds and point out that her cat should not be your garden in the first place and therefore will not be in danger if kept on her own property as it should be stinkin horrible vermin that they are (i dont like cats :11: ) you can find fact about how many song birds cats kill per year on the web try tellin her these and see what she thinks of that probs get it on the hated rspb site.

  19. carl , just get a large plastic dog pet bed and raise it of the floor ,and then visit your local charity shop once or twice a month and get a few bags of old clothes they cant sell, use the clothes for bedding ,you can change it as regular as you want . and take the plastic bed out side to wash it at the same time .. i use wooden beds which i knock up useing ply and 3x2 raised up off the floor and straw for bedding have to change often in this shitty weather just make it to whatever size you want. you can even make it in such a way as you can extend it as the pup grows as long as there ar
  20. yeah it good mate i used to work with jimmies nephew davie on glen avon estate up in the cairngorms so ive lived it as well its a great life.
  21. we have our first two bottles on the go fermentin already get pickin folks before they have gone in sw scotland the frosts are gettin later so we freeze the little suckers and defo gona try that idea with the venison. (now wheres my .222).
  22. clothing wise dry and warm with a pair of good boots, listen to the keepers (very important) go where and do what they say they will tell you when to make plenty noise and when to stay quiet and mabye tap your stick or clap. if you have a dog make sure it behaves and deos'nt go mental, enjoy yourself and watch out for the guns when in the last approach as some may be very old and blind an dont wear feathers in your cap
  23. yeah i agree cut the food down, mabye leave them for a day or so and feed them up the incoming water course if you have one or out of the water i have come accross this a few times and its mostly over feeding that causes it ducks are the pigs of the bird world and will just sit about and eat. atb mate
  24. they can and will eat anything they can catch, had released mallard on a pond by the time the otter had killed a few the rest vacated the pond for good. electric fence is your best bet and if round buildings try motion sensor lights that should discourage the little bugger but for gods sake dont touch it.
