  1. hi we have it in north scotland for a few months now i have walked up and dispatched 3 that just never knew i was there. since january and have shot and snared heaps affected. horrible affliction regards p
  2. hi i am not a pro trapper but have been doing well against the mole on families farm's in the north of scotland but havent been able to catch any for a while now the ground here is also very dry and dusty and the moles seem to be deeper down. i flattend the heaps on 3 6 acre fields 12 days ago and there are no new heaps up yet. waiting for some rain to moisten things up again now! regards P

  4. go to DEFRA website. its not the law but codes of best practice. there will be links here somewhere you have to look or use the search option at the top of the page. the guys on this site are very knowledgeable and very helpfull! regards P

  9. really great advise folks thanks i have passed the info and some moles over to my mate! he's real happy because hes lernt something about ferrets (me to) and also got a supply of food for them for a while! regards peeps

  12. hi all, i set some mole traps the other day with a bit of joy in a few of them. the mole were left for a half hour at the garden gate. a mate came up to visit with his 2 hob's one of which found the moles and started to have a late breakfast and seemed very happy to much away on the mole. i asked if he ever fed them moles and he said "no but i might start". i have never heard of ferrets eating or being fed moles! any thoughts??? regards Peter
  13. hi all, i went out on tuesday and set my first fence wire of the year and some mole traps. when i checked out the wires in the morning i had a few catches but one had been eaten. not uncommon i know but it was the front end rib cage on one side, heart lungs, front leg all of one shoulder and a bit of the other. the eyes were eaten out (i think by crows?) but there was bones eaten so think there was somthing else there aswell past expeiriance says that charlie would have scoffed pretty much the whole thing do you think it could be stoat/weasle. also as a point of note there are no repor
  14. hi all, there is more than one plauge type world wide but 2 (mentiond above) in the UK. they are carried by rats all types of rats but passed to us MOSTLY by the fleas on the rats. modern day buildings sewars and dwellings means that the rats are not in such close proximity to us humans and our companions (dogs cats etc) so the spread of the fleas from the rats is not so widespread (almost never) therefore the spread of the disease is no existant. over and above that its a reportable disease and modern medicines can combat and cope with its all these and some other factors mean its virt

  16. hi all. dont be fooled by the nice looking swans........ there like geese and have very very strong necks legs and wings. they will defo pull harder than a nice little tasty bunnie. breakaways are a must there! it will be london tower for you otherwise! regards p
  17. hi i am new to this site and so far its superb................. thanks. i have been looking for good quality snare wire for ages so this is jackpot for me. thanks again. a couple of quick questions. 1, is 6 or 8 strans better for rabbit snares? 2. whats a good method for spinning them. i have a few issues with my homemade snares no being wound tight enough then they fray and need to be replaced. thanks every1 regards Peter
