  17. hi i shoot a marlin .22 lr for bunnies its a semi. the triggers heavy and wont load sub sonics very well. but with the highV's its accurate and cycles real well i can see past it now. i dont think the marlins are as common here as some other makes but i find it reliable enough so long as its kept very clean regards P
  18. i got a call from a friend "will you come over and shoot some bunnies please?" the place was crawling in them fresh young rabbits never heard a gun before and well tame to the landy. no further invite needed. went and had 68 in 2 hours 15 min with my .22 lr marlin with no moderator in the daytime. wish i had taken a camera now. defo taking one next time! good shooting and great sport woodga well done! was it daylight or dark when you were shooting? regards P
  19. hi all, anyone got or know of any tircks or advice how to stop catching non target species in snares. i have been doing a job (amature no fee's taken) on a farm owned by my family which is/was heaving with rabbits. i am getting on top of them now with a combo of snaring, shooting shotguns and lamping at night with the .22 lr . had good results so far but am catching several phesants (some of which have been released unharmed) at one section of fence where the rabbits and birds are crossing from the neighbours land which has been fully sprayed with round up (no permission on there land)
  20. staying hidden is very important they have great eyesight. they will come to decoys and a crow call can be helpfull after you have mastered hoe to use it. as metioned a ladder trap could be leathal here to! good luck.
  21. hi i am no mole trapper by any means but when i have had problem moles i have just sat and watched for the digging and shot it with the 12 bore . from what youve said it wont take long. may be if you colapsed th tunnels it would have to dig again! the pro's mite think not!! let us no how youy get on! regards
  22. hi i use a dead rabbit. leave it belly up they see it better and put a couple of decoys around and about it. when there close enough let em have it.
  23. this is one of the funniest things i have read for years. please keep it coming feild trapper!!
  24. wit regards killing every infected rabbit i see i dont kill them all. if its very bad and therefore unlikely to survive then its quickly dispatched. but there is no real way of telling weither or not it will survive. alot of farmers i know ask people NOT to kill them but leave them to spread it around. they want very rabbit dead and the more that get it the better in there eyes! regards Peter
