  3. similar thread going on in the ferreting section. i was taught by an old family member what he called brick/stone snaring. we used old bricks/stones to hold the snares in place rather than pegs when the ground was very hard or frozen. i am sure there was a thread on hear recently that had good pictures! alawys remember that old charlie can pull much more weight than a bunny! regards P
  4. never tried this with nets but it works real well with the snares. i was taught it by my grans brother many years ago. he called it brick or stone snaring. it was used on very hard and frozen ground and rather than use a peg we just used bricks or heavy stones! the bricks with the holes in them are the easiest as you just tie on through the hole or otherwise secure the snare/net to a heavy stone. we have also used old lumps of steel/heavy branches etc anything that a bunny cant pull away! always remember (if snaring) foxy can pull a fair weight (much more than bunny)! there was

  13. hi all great write up and pics as always. love to read them. i was out at a permission this summer. had a similar shot where i could just see the ears of buggs from prone so was deciding whither to try kneeling standing or creep closer when i also got the "dinners ready in half hour" call from the dearly beloved. "bugger" i thought "that will have blown that one" but when i looked back at buggs the phone was just as good as a squeek. poor buggs had popped his little head up, with ears up, trying to work out what that stange noise was! it will never do that again! chuckled all the wa
