on fence wires (cant do it up here anymore) i used to put a cable tie on the top of fence above the wire as a marker its discrete cheap easy to remove and you can carry hundreds at no extra weight or bulk

Thanks, for your input, mate,...& 'respect' too you, for being a user, of the old wooden mole traps, once upon, a time ?,....lol Tell you what, i would love one or two, of the 'full barrel' type (in working order !),....lol,......(although im aware. theres a modern version, consisting of a 'plastic' body, these days ?,...lol ) i have some of these old wooden "full barrel" traps kicking about somewhere!!! found them the other day but cant get a picture up! few of the springs with no wooden barrel too........ they worth anything to the collectors?

great advice i recently started using long nets for ferreting and there a superb addition to the equipment. gat some shorter nets rather than one big long one though more versatile that way!! enjoy cheers P

i have perm up in north of scotland in highlands and fairly high up. ther was massive population of bunnies we were hitting them hard all year with shooting trapping snaring ferreting and the winters were very hard on them tto and the bunnies are still there but nothing like the numbers and they have not returned to big numbers since.

You'd have more success with snares mate and considerably cheaper.. Certainly an option mate, any where in particular recommended for snares? Cheers please remember that in scotland the rules for snaring are different.......... must do a course for snaring get a unique number from your local plod and have every snare with a tag showing your number! if caught snaring without this ............................... not only are you in trouble but also arming the antis with more ammo to fire at us!!!

i combination feed mine....... dry stuff when i aint got any carcasses and sometimes a wee bit of both........... but as stated already they guzzle water when on the dry stuff.

every year at birthday and christmass my mum would ask "what would you like for a gift" .................. "ferrets mum" "no chance son"................ "well waders then please" "sorry son but not them either" this went on for years.............. until i left home and set up with what was at the time my girlfriend.............. she also was very clear that ferrets were not an option.................... so when we split up 3 years ago my sister went out and obtained me a couple of sinkers................ i was 37 by then!!! been happily bolting to nets since then..................... new gi

am with chicken_man, farm collies great at marking holding very sometimes a catch............. not so good when sheperding and the turn away from sheep to chase a bunny though!!! have to sneek them away for ferreting when no ones looking now! cheers P
