  2. I have removed the topic advertising mobile phones for sale. This has nothing to do with angling!!! If anyone wants to advertise their products on this site, I suggest they contact the admin dept and discuss payment for the site carrying their advert. Any further advertisements will be removed and repeat offenders removed from the site. Moocher

  5. Hi all! Another year about to come to a close, where do they go? I was just trying to work out how long ago it was I decided to take the original Moocher's Website down? I think it must be nearly 5 years! This site has certainly stepped up to the plate, filling the void and giving all us like minded individuals the chance to share experiences and have a good craic. I know first hand how time comsuming it can be and the effort involved in keeping a site like this running smoothly. I take my hat off to the admin team.....well done lads! Anyway, I wish you all a great xmas and th

  7. Hello Mr Darcy! Hows tricks? My own barbel fishing has been crap this year. The floods have moved the Barbel from thier usual haunts and I am still trying to find them. The river I fish has very few Barbel, but it does have a couple of beasts. The monster crab is a great barbel bait, but doesn't it stink? Did you have your Barbel on the pin? Nice to see you amongst them mate. Moocher
  8. Very True........Whenever I see a good condition Adcock Stanton It just makes me want to touch myself!
  9. Great write up, love the kelly Kettle! I do nearly all my fishing with the centrepin. I will have to sort some pictures out to put up. It really is proper fishing. Stuff that sitting in a bivvy for weeks on end waiting for an alarm to scream off, it has no soul! I should know, I spent 15 years doing it! Now its Pin fishing all the way. Again, Great write up. 11. Hi! Anyone can enter the British Carp Angling Championships. There will undoubtedly be a venue near you where one of the qualifying rounds takes place. The last time I fished in them it cost £125.00 per team of two. You need to finish in the top 3 pairs for each qualifier to secure a place in the final. The final is well covered in the angling press and usually sky TV. The first qualifiers are usually about April time. You will find all the details you require here http www.britishcarpchamps.co.uk All the best Moocher
  12. I agree with a lot of what has been said on this thread. I have met Wilson many times and I suppose his manner may annoy a few. Bottom line is, he can seriously catch fish!!!! And that my "pedigree chums" is what it's all about. Passion is definately the best angling program ever made, though I understand the new Hugh Miles one with Bowler is tipped as a contender. (Martin Bowler is another very good angler......Mind you John Wilson is his uncle so he had a good teacher ) I have to admit, apart from the great rod race and Record breaking fish, which have been done to death on

  14. Duramitex can be purchased from most decent pet shops. If you have any shops near you catering for Racing Pigeons, they always sell Duramitex. Fanciers use it to keep feather mite at bay. Regards Moocher
  15. Excellent! Wish I could find somewhere on form at the moment. Its the worst season I can remember.
  16. Jammy b*****d Any good? Hi Joe, When I get time I will go through some canal carp pics and put them up. Previous years he canals around by me (Midlands) have fished well for carp. Plenty of doubles up to 19lb and a smattering of 20lb+ fish. Its great because there are no named fish, you never know what you are striking into and they fight like stink. My mate has had the best we know of so far around here at 25lb.12oz This year however has been a real grueller on the canal. The silver lining though s that I like canal Zander fishing and have been hearing of a few good uns co
  17. Well I have waited patiently to get on the rivers again. Had the rods set up on Wednesday ready for the off at midnight friday. And I am still waiting Never seen floods like it. Put on chest waders and went down to a local pit to see how bad the flooding was. Saw two Carp, biggest about 18lb swim past me on a f*****g cycle path! Water on the cycle path about 3.5ft deep. f**k knows where they will end up. Suppose its back to canal carping for another couple of weeks
  18. Zander are a species in their own right mate. Zander are here to stay now and there is no need to kill them on capture, just return as you would any coarse fish. I understand they are nice eating but have never tried one. It is usually dickheads that knock pike on the head that feel Zander deserve the same treatment. To be honest, most folk I know of that knock Pike / Zander on the head do so because they are scared to handle them and only feel safe removing hooks from a dead pike / Zander. Killing predatory fish for no reason is frowned upon in a big way by serious angle

    Digi Slrs

Ian, I am a tight b*****d when it comes to parting with the readies mate. I looked long and had at a digi SLR and took advise from folk in the know. There were only two contenders for me, Nikon D70 and Canon 350D. I cant give you a personal comparison as I have only used the Canon, but it is a purchase I do not regret making. Love it Mate! 24. Here are a couple of doubles mate. From a little river no one believes holds any Barbel. This one was taken in a flooded river with the best floodwater Barbel bait going, a big Lobworm. Just trundled it along the bottom in the flow. This one was taken in normal river conditions, Halibut pellet, Freelined on one of my trusty "Pins" Both of these fish went just over 10lb Tight lines Moocher
