What species?There is a difference between catching and holding they gotta catch up before any holding happens, Read my post properly,the first thing i stated was what species,roe take catching the larger species take the holding,that is what i read in an old book anyway not that i have had any experiance

they were bred to last all night on the lamp and tackle what ever they was asked to do ,unlike most lurchers bred today . The last part is a strong statement,cant agree with you there it all depends on the prey and the dog , You must live in a diferent country from me and hunt diferent quarry dont know about that ,but if there was a dog to suit our needs we would be working it already ,we do own 2 other very good dogs ,but they are a bit small ,and have to put in 2times the effort .but they do manage .and we have seen and worked most breeds , I will stop typing now as you have m

your dog is far two young to be in the beaters line , your early success dummies sit stay should be worked on don't be in a hurry to take her beating , all your early success can be ruined , you wont be the first to enter a dog to early and wont be the last , you need to go back to basics , sit and stay stop on the whistle , you blow that whistle your dog needs to know you will be at her straight away to correct her , simple retrieves and stop her on the way out if she don't stop get out to her and take her back to the place were you blew the whistle , do not take her beating you will hav

Raymond could of got a working border outcross but fell out with the men that owned them Jim took over from ray and bred some good workers he had the last of ray borders jim packed in the digging job and give the dog to mates and sold a few Breeder thank's for clearing that up for me Hi breeder i never took over from ray mate he had his borders we swapped a few we bred into each others got some good stuff but i never took over mate levi used alot of my stuff as well mate I thought,Breeder cleared up my post obviously not no mate sorry i never took over from any body ray

I hope the lines are still going,but why would RW tell a good friend of mine,who was down getting a line out of his black dogs,that he has finished with borders because he could not get a suitable outcross,if he couldnt find a suitable dog,who can?i hope i am wrong

I was informed that RW and LO lines of border dried up because they could no longer get a suitable out cross,i believe this to be true
