as already said ,put some extra holes in a leather strap and tighten right up ,ive found as long as you can twist the collar around and you cant pull the leather coller over the ferrets head ,then its ok . dont be afraid of putting the coller on fairly tight ,then just give it the TUG TEST........simples.........jim

i know how you feel bud ,i went on my permission yesterday and got 4 rabbits in 5 hours (and its a 50 mile round trip) ,and ive had worse days this season lol, thing is you cant beat a day out in peace and quiet ,theirs some things you just cant put a price on ..jim

my permissions been crap,no numbers at all and its not the best permission to begin with ,last year i avraged 10 per outing mor or less, this year ive struggled to get even 3 or 4, its lots of walking, mainly ditches and hedgerows, luckily i put an ad on this site and a couple of guys have helped me out with some better ferreting. im not always bothered about large numbers i can enjoy a day in the field anyway but this year my permissions been piss poor ....................jim

"Sporting" Dog Breeds; Becoming more popular as pets ?
jimster68 replied to chartpolski's topic in General Talk
we have a few none working lurchers/ greys near us .and most of their owners love em ,a couple have been picked up at rescue centres and some have been passed to them in one way or another . as most lurcher owners are willing to stop and chat ,most admit they have never had a lurcher before but now wouldnt part with theirs ,the thing with lurchers is they are a versatile breed ,they can race /show/work/ and make great pets ,and dont suffer from most ailments . as long as people who dont work them look after them in a responsible way ,then good look to them . ive got to admit some of the wor -

just like to say thanks to FERRETINGMAN (mick),for the invite out on his permission ,my permissions been fecked by mixy and i put a post on THL to see if anyone needed hand with any ferreting around yorkshire . ferreting man sent me a pm, and a day was arranged, mick agreed that i could go out on his permission with my dog chip and three of this years kits that hadnt been worked yet , we first visited a small wood yard with just a couple warrens and we were greeted by the owner who told us he had already shot 18 rabbits and mixy had killed a few off a couple of months earlier ,so thier wasn'

im not sure were your dogs box is ? in the house or in the run ? sometimes dogs piss in their bed then lie on it when they are cold (the piss feels warm). or as stated as above some dogs just have bad habits ,as surley no animal likes to lay in its own piss . so the only thing i can suggest is to put a piece of plyboard above the dogs bed then lower it so your dog has only just enough room to get in and out of its bed ,most dogs have to squat or cock thier leg to have a piss ,by restricting the amount of room the dog has above its head it should not be able to get comfortable enough to hav

rabbit that was cought on wends night....mixi?
jimster68 replied to silentrunner2011's topic in General Talk
i have to agree with the above, last year i had mixy on parts of my permission and it hardly seemed to affect a lot of them ,they just recovered ,a lot of them that recovered had bald patches around their eyes and face and the fur was growing back . this year its a different story my permission is fecked with mixy, numbers are % down on what i was catching last year. -
always helps if you can get a ferret from a working line, as not all ferrets make the grade,i then get the ferrets when their youngsters and handle them a lot,i lay plastic pipe on the floor in the garden and get them used to running through it ,picking them up gently when they get to the other side ,i put the plastic pipe onto grass and find the youngsters want to play in the grass and it gets them used to it,i also feed the youngsters rabbit so they get the smell for it.by the time the youngsters are about 6to9 mnths old they go on their first ferreting trip . i just start with small warrens

everyone knows super leeds are one of the best supported teams outside the top tier of english football, just look at the away support they take no matter where they are playing in the country . just because some village idiot happened to be at the game on friday doesnt mean ,all leeds fans are the same. im glad the c**t got locked up ,would have been even better if the keeper would have chinned him on live tv ,instead of rolling around on the the floor like a pussy . .........jim

great to hear the lads back boxing after his illness, hes shown a lot of grit and determination to get back into the ring at any level ,i have nothing but admiration for the guy ,im sure all his family and friends are real proud of him . wishing the guy all the best.....jim

never mind bud ,at the end of the day youve just got to rise above it ,as has already been said its his loss not yours ,hopefully he will read this and at least reply to you and try and put things right . not all folk are the same ,i took a lad out last year of this site(he had no permission) and made a friend ,and i helped him with his first permission when he got some .
