  3. Here is some info on shunts and reccommended diets, hope she does ok. Dawn. http://www.napoleon.org.uk/health/liver_shunts.htm Success with managing Livershunt by diet will depend on the severity of the shunt itself. Managing the condition medically includes a low protein prescription diet, usually Hills Science KD or UD. Potatoes, rice can also be included. Periodic treatment with antibiotics, and a laxative i.e. Lactulose. Taken from a Wolfhound site, a breed commonly affected. The diets mentioned can be found here, you do NOT need a Vets prescription to buy these diets. h

  8. Shot two more Squirrels this morning, and they were crap shots, too close for the scope to focus, but could see enough to hit them. The first one dropped then bolted behind the Ferret run, and the bitch quickly found it, but got a bite above her eye for her trouble, he didnt get a second chance! I threw that one away, then blow me, not half an hour later another one was yanking my nuts!! I couldnt see that one, so took pot luck, I thought I had missed but I could hear scuttling, so I took Tarn round the entry to see if he could find it, didnt take long! Anyway, thats two less.
  9. Cramp, you thought it was a dog on ground with livestock, you are perfectly entitled to shoot a stock worryer! Dawn.

  12. They look good keeps, what made you choose Billy? Dawn.
  13. Those are great. There was no way that Ferret was letting go, even if the dog had the Rabbit too! Dawn.
  14. How could you be so sure that a newly designed breed would be good with children? There are not too many generations now, so to my mind that was a HUGE risk! If the emphasis was NOT on working, why then was the breed not called the "Capheaton pet dog" or something similar? I dont wish to sound rude but it seems to me like a buch of folk having a bash at something without weighing up the consequences. Dawn.
  15. Hi Boogiedog. What a shame you felt the need to "design" yet another Terrier breed, do you think the state of breeds already here is that bad? A couple of points if I may. You said at the end of your post: Yet near the start of your post you said: Slightly contradictive dont you think? In my opinion, if you cared anything about developing a Terrier breed, you would of concentrated on its ability to perform a job, not be as you said designed as a "pet". I am afraid people that genuinely care about a breed will ensure its origins, if you wanted another lap dog, why didnt you
  16. My male Ferret always loses the fur on his tail in the summer and it starts to regrow about now. Dawn.

  18. Fantastic account there, I love to see the Bedlingtons work, brilliant. Dawn.
  19. The Spanish are notorious for hanging dogs after a work season, they do it to Pointers and Spaniels too, they are morons. I do not wish to offend anyone but I do not support people who take dogs from other countries then bring them here when we have such a huge rescue problem concerning Greyhounds and Lurchers here, they are compounding the problem even more. Dawn,
  20. Super bitch, looks a pleasure to work. Dawn.
