  4. Thanks all for the comments. I love these birds they are so skilled, fast and just stunning to watch and getting photos of them is a bonus. They were even catching flies and butterflies. I have one shot of a merlin I took last year but it was a grab shot. I now know of a patch where I have seen them regularly so hope to get a few, but they are very quick and unpredictable so it is just a waiting game. There is a peregrine nest in Woking town centre which is just up the road for me. It would mean taking photos from a car park but that's ok with me apart for having to pay for it. H

  6. I was tipped off last week that the Hobby's had returned, so armed with camera and lunch I took a slightly longer break yesterday for a fantastic show of up to 4 birds hunting. Not a lot of dragons about yet so they were having to work hard.   13. I think you guessed right and it is worth £5 even for not going to the hides. Got a couple of other locations to try out soon not that far away.
  14. Some of you know I was well into taking photos of Barn Owls which suited me as they were in a meadow 2 mins away. They seem to have moved on to a spot I do not have access too so I took a trip to Kent where there were some sightings, but I have now come across Marsh Harriers.   19. I had a bit of time out of work last week and went searching a couple of new spots. Looking for Kingfishers and owls. Not a kingfisher in sight but a few owls and a few firsts.   23. I know someone who does it but not sure of the kit he uses but I do know some of his photos are excellent. There are a few digiscoping groups on flickr if you fancied searching through them to get a idea of best camera for the job.
