  1. I took my 10 month old pup (the one on the left) out for a walk on his own on Saturday to put in some extra basic training. As we walked down a bridleway three youths 15 ish were coming the other way, my dog went up to them tail wagging and one of the lads seriously said to me “is he a Great Dane?†I was speechless and just carried on walking thinking what a thick t*4t. I quite often get asked if he is a Greyhound or Whippet or if she is a hairy Greyhound or a Deer Hound but a Great Dane takes the biscuit. I know I should have put him straight but I was really shocked. ALSO
  2. Ask the wife to drive, (usual I did last time stuff) Give the cat some left over’s. Order a Drambuie,Order another Drambuie, Order yet another Drambuie and a coffee Wife by now is really pissed off. Say "Time we went love and by the way it’s your turn to pay". See you outside xxx She should be ok in the morning.
  3. I was debating buying the Sigma150-500 or Canon but was talked out of them both by someone in Jessops and told to get a Tamron 200-500. Not an answer but a third choice, I have yet to try the Tamron but both the others both seem excellent when tried out in a shop. I use a Tamron 17-270 at present, in fact that is all I ever use and it is excellent, light, fast, and can take some good shots in the right hands so would not hesitate getting another
  4. Register on photobucket upload your photos and in options you can select size choose large or medium or edit when uploaded. You then cut and paste the address of what photos you want into your posts. Look forward to seeing them. longdog13 She is 26"tt dame was a Saluki/Grey x?. Beddy or Deerhound we think got her as a rescue at 10 weeks so chuffed she turned out like she has.
  5. Thanks The plan is lamping on one of my shooting permissions I have left for a while but we are just learning the ropes. She has been a nightmare to train, I blame it on the Saluki in her but she has settled down and her recall is now really good, just working on getting her fit and for him to catch up a bit. She picks up rabbits quite regular on walks and she is bloody quick and loves just running and running with over a 7" stride. He is the real sprinter hunter though so I hope they will make a good team with short and long distance covered.
  6. She is 15 months He is only about 10 months and coming on really well, was a bit of a state when we got him.
  7. Taken these over the last couple of weeks
  8. God I miss this baby but I have promised myself that one day I will get another Caterham 7 Supersport 2000 in Cadbury's Metalic Purple, 145bhp 0-6 4.6 sec 130mph without screen 1957(LOTUS 7)-2010(Caterham)they have to be the best cars ever made in the UK. Very, very few cars can keep up on a track, road or putting a smile on your face. I do like my Disco3 V8 though
  9. If you get stuck call Jane at Celia Cross Greyhound Rescue on 01483 222832 she will take her I am sure and remome her to a suitable owner. They are a great charity and really look into who has their dogs. Good luck and sounds like a nice dog.
  10. Popped down to Celia Cross today with some wine for the raffle and had a look at some of the dogs they have in. If you are after an ex racer there have a few beauties and a great little staffy that needs a home. I think they will all be at the show.
  11. Wanted instructions I believe this are similar to a Portamag so have found the portamag instructions on line but just want to be sure.

  13. Your dog looks mighty fine and I noticed you are from Guildford, I am not far away and also had problems with vets not understanding my two dogs health, fitness and build. If you are interested PM me and I can make a good recomendation for a lurcher/greyhound vet not far from you and also advise who to stay away from.
  14. That is a really nice looking dog and big by the looks of it, how is he bred?
  15. We had the same problem with ours. A post on Lurcher Link came up with some ideas Lurch link
  16. "Chihuahua" It’s not big and it's not clever and a f3cker to spell, useless word and dog but if you want one PM me before Monday. "CANCER" is not good either.
  17. "Earth!" it looks like you were lucky. HERE it has put me off trying them.
  18. What’s the best thing you have swapped for your chickens eggs. I have done shooting magazines, chicken sitting, dog sitting, baby sitting and now four months in serviced offices for 6 eggs a week plus £2 for the internet connection.
  19. I am so glad my wife does not look this topic, all I would hear for weeks would be I WANT ONE,I WANT ONE, she would be tracking them down and driving me over to look. Great photo's as ever and good looking pups.
  20. I got my bitch at 11 weeks and she is only part Saluki. She lives in the house is very affectionate and playful but was the hardest dog to train and a real pain in the ass. She was my first dog and to be honest I had no experience on how to train a dog other than books, advice from other dog owners with good dogs and watching Purdy’s Progress a dozen times. I was keen to get it right so I took her to puppy classes to learn the basics; the trainer I chose is very experienced and is well known having trained to the highest trial levels. My bitch was the naughtiest most head strong dog out
  21. I like him!!lovely dog or bitch? very regal looking, whats his breeding? Thanks but don't be fooled by her looks the one I usually get is her Saluki one saying I am just about to bugger off so see you later, 15 minutes ok with you? We are not totally sure on exactly what breeding she is. The dam is a Saluki x Grey but the sire is unkown we guess and have been told she has some deerhound or beddlington in there somewhere.
  22. I was told if you put a tiny drop of lavinder oil on the back of the dogs neck every now and then works. I never tried it as I was lucky enough to catch mine doing it and tell her off, she hasn't done it since.
