    Thanks for the info. I took the photo on a common just off the M25/A3 in Surrey open heath and some woods. Did not hear anything from it as just a grab shot, it was perched on the stump about 15 away when we walked past. Will keep my eyes open for another

    Another vote for the 7D. £500 for a good second hand one, £650 from HK or just under £1k in UK. There is talk of a MKii coming out soon but that has been talk for years now and it will no doubt be twice as much. I have had a 500D, 600D, 40D and borrowed a 60D and the 7D is superior to all of them in handling, fps and auto-focus. Flippy screens are only there to break and are only useful for macro and video IMO.

    You get it free with most Canon cameras so ask around someone will have a copy. Load it and then all updates are free from the Canon website.

    Tough little jake bugg3rgs those two, best fight I have seen this year. They might not take out too many this year as took out half I recon last cull so not many big stags this year.

    1st 20 ft he came to me when I was taking pictures of a heron 2nd not sure but say 30ft Last one was flipping close, we were bricking it and had to dodge behind a fallen oak

    I took the flying ones at a display today. I would love the chance to take pictures of birds of prey hunting and I am wiling to give photos in exchange. Based in Surrey but will travel.     I went up to Bushy Park this morning and was taking pictures of one of the heron when it started to get splashed by a large cfish. It went on for a while and I have a load of shots. here are just a few. Heron attacked by carp by PINNACLE PHOTO LOG, on Flickr Be careful out there.

    I took the dogs and my camera for an early walk this morning to Bushy Park. Home by 7.30am, mad but worth it. .
