Have you considered a Browning x bolt composite, there around 600 new, ive just bought a tikka t3 but was recomended one by a friend who uses one in .308, he really rated it for value and out of box accuracy.

Due to bigger safe being purchased i have for sale a Safeguard Devices three gun safe, however it will fit four in it. it has both keys with it. £65 I also have for sale an electronic safe that was used for ammunition, it suitable for rifle ammunition, has electronic function and keys for back up. £15 must be collection only due to size + weight. I have moved to England and have applied for both my shotgun and firearm licence. id say your right there bear trapper, look at the difference between a body builder and a cyclist, the body builder will look more impressive and muscular but the cyclist will probably be fitter. depends what you look at in your dog and what you want from them. N.I
