I'd say 95% of plummer owners are in it for the money and 5% for the working aspect. No wonder the breed is just about ruined. As someone stated earlier. Because a lad bought one for £250 they are assuming the pup was faulty in some way. And that...just about sums the breeders mentality up.

What's made you decide on a plummer for bushing over say a spaniel/hound cross or whatever stabba? And what about the dog getting to ground whilst bushing? The terriers wont come off the lead will we're at an earth round here, only when on ground i know well and even than ive had a few accidents Genuine question not being funny! Good luck in finding what your after mate Why? Because there'll be every chance i may want to dig to the dog. Not exclusivley but the odd dig now and again. The dog will be used for ratting/bushing(all game) and like i said. Perhaps the odd dig. Plus i like the

Yup and i think the £300 £400 price tag has been the ruination of the breed. Money grabbing at it's finest.

Guess i'll have to try and get me foot in the door then or find someone who don't charge the earth. It's not the price as such..it's the principle . Never showed a dog in me life and never will. The one i get(if i get one) will be used for cover work for the big dogs.

So they're not in it for the money then bit of a piss take that imo

So..what is the going rate for one of these pups/saplings?? Silly money then i'm not interested. After all..it's a terrier pup i'm after not a cash cow

What type of soil then stabbs? Something peat based, high acidity? Peat moss and perlite 1-1 ratio. Never feed the plant..ie miracle grow or owt like that(fertilizer and such) They get the nutrients they need from the soil alone.
-
i put kettle water in the tubs when planting for the plot ya sad old tawt might give them a bash Simple to look after really. Soil is the most important factor .

So what would be the best lines to look out for , for just working ability and not the looks side of things?? And would there be any lines to avoid at all costs if it was a worker i was after?? . Showing wouldn't be an option it'd be just kept for work and nothing else.
-
From about november to march just put em in the shed to go dormant. Fetch em out about this time of year. Trim the dead back then they should thrive. Soil is more important than actual insects/flies. to water i just use twice boiled water from the kettle.
