  1. You can lead a horse to water...but you can't make it drink. Some dogs start off on fire then gradually fade away while others start off slowly but improve with every outing and some are just downright shirkers Plug away until you think you've given the dog every chance to improve. then if you are not happy do what you need to do. I certainly wouldn't kennel a dog i wasn't 100% happy with. A dog you ain't happy with will grind you down and make the kennels/hunting an unhappy experience. When that happens then the joy has gone and you'll start to resent the dog. Average is as average does a
  2. Stoppers? Hard ground?? Suppose you are all gunna keep your dogs off the stubble in September then. Makes me laugh the hard ground bit. exercise em on hard ground and plenty of roadwork soon gets em ready for hard underfoot conditions. Otherwise you may aswell keep greyhounds and stick to running on sand tracks.
  3. It's your dad and you love him. when love turns to pity then there's summat drastically wrong. If the man can't see the error of his ways through drink then it's up to you as a family to show him. If that don't work then it's obvious the drink means more to him than you lot. Sit him down and have a word. Tell him it's a serious word from the off then he can't laugh or shrug it off. If still no sense then it's time to seek professional help. Main thing is..the man must want to help himself. If not...send him to coventry . maybe a shock to the system is just what he needs.Good luck with however

  9. s.e.s.k.u hit the nail on the head for me. Give em just enough to stop em getting bored and fractious. As for running em on hard ground. i suppose none of you run em on the stubbles that are rock hard?? they are lurchers not namby pamby pedigrees. they are bred to be run and tested on unforgiving ground imo. Summertime is for relaxation and a winding down process after a long season of graft. You see these ripped to the max lurchers at the shows in June when in actuality they should be only half fit . Peak time for a lurcher should be late October early November. Usually any earlier than that

    World Cup

Think spain were shown too much respect for the past 4 or so years. Second half the dutch took the game to them by attack attack attack. Sadly spain weren't expecting that and came unstuck. The keeper had a howler which didn't help matters. Spain will learn from that and come back as strong as ever. Excellent game to watch mind.
  15. Wonder if i'll get a share of the profits for promoting Aldi in a good light??

  18. Shit...thought he'd buggered off for good
  19. Nope i'd say thats expensive
  20. A slow to medium canter isn't stalking imo. Stalking to me is the silly skulking they do in the low to the ground stance. I seen dogs go down the beam real steady which at times is a god send due to obstacles. But that stupid stalk is a drain on lamping time and battery time also.
  21. Dam and pups look in fine fettle...Gunna have some pain on once they start running about
  22. Thank the christ it's not just mine then lol. This one here is really puppyish in her behavior and makes you pull your hair out at times. Until the lamp is switched on. Then she falls into a seriousness mode . Probably the most puppyish bitch i've ever owned at this age. Coming up 22 months. Just had her second heat so maybe she'll calm a little now.
  23. Hobart about the best mate. But they ain't cheap. As for 70p a lb..That is a piss take.
