  1. usually happens on the cast when the hook link is to long and a cheap non coated braid is used,i would use the most expensive coated braid you can afford and just strip the outer coating off at the end for your knotless knot to the hook, the rest of the link will now stay slightly stiff, keep them short is the key imo and should easily overcome the problems your getting Cheers bud i was using thick flourocarbon which was quite stiff and the rigs varied in length from as short as 5 inches to a 3 1/2 zig , the old man says it was just roach messing about with it im using quite senseitiv
  2. As some off you may know went fishing last week and there was one thing i forgot to add in the write up which was after a while in the water the hair rigs started coming out with knots along the length of the rig stopping at the lead clip and im just curious of how this may have been?. There are no crays in the water to mess about with the rig just plenty off roach and rudd? Richard

  8. Some of you may have seen my other post about fishing in the rain askin was it worth it? well the short answer is it was Well we were up at 6 loaded up the car with all the kit in blue skies damn bbc promised me it would be raining at 6 Anyway we arrived at the fishery at 8 sharp ready for the gates to open yet again in the sun and was looking to be a good day. on talking to the fishery owner vince it had been a very quiet day sunday due to the rain so the lake i chose to fish was basically untouched for the convension then we proceeded to our chosen swims which were next to each oth

  10. Yeah the korda funnle web mesh tube is what im using just ts the micromesh one and one drop of rain and the whole bag falls apart on the cast. Richard i usually remove my hook link, fit the new mesh, replace bait whatever and reattach hook link under cover, bivvie, don't seem to get any probs, maybe im just getting it out quicker than you, most of my mates do the same to be fair Yeah thats what i'll have to do maybe take the hook link off and use a baiting needle to put the bag over the hooklength and rest it on the hook instead of just hooking the tip of the bag what about the ba

  17. Dads got some time off this week so we planned to do a 24 hour session on white springs fishery in swansea monday into tuesday then alton towers on wednesday and another 24 hour session from thursday into friday and the weather for monday and tuesday aint looking too smart at the moment i personally hate fishing in the rain because it makes most things harder and makes using pva bags almost impossible so do i stay and hope the weather improves for thursday or do i go? Plus theres a nash baits convension on the fishery saturday/sunday and there will be so much bait going into the water i
  18. Like what it say's in the title what catches more fish for you? and what do you prefer using? also ive not fished for carp for little over a year now and when i stopped tutti frutti and the source were the all the rage around here what flavours do you use most now? also does anyone know of a place were i can get cheap small packs of boilies? because i dont want to be buying kilo bags of a few flavours or its going to get expensive. Atb Richard
  19. Yeah what a shame, a few people say that it was found teathered to the bottom by a fixed rig. Richard
  20. Just put them on the ferrets for a few hours each day, some dont mind and some make a huge show over it. i got one gill that doesent care and another which pushes its head across the floor as if ive tied a lead weight round its neck. shes getting better with it on now though Richard
  21. where should i start, You could probably start by going down to the lake this season and talking to a few of the anglers and bailiffs, they will no doubt tell you the best way to start off what basic gear will i need? By far the easiest way to start of trout fishing is by spinning but you will have to check the rules to see what methods are allowed For a rod something like This For a reel something like This Line End tackle But if spinning is against the rules you'll have to float fish which is a little more complicated. the line and reel can stay the same
  22. Were you going to be trying them at? i made some of my own back last year only ever caught tench on them Richard
