  1. Of course i miss my thumb it was my best friend for 42 years Tying Knots can be a pain and my partner had to button up my jeans for a while. I used to call it my second something or other as it was that sensitive it was like some one squeezing your testicle as one day playing with a ball the dog came up and nipped me in excitement. Being right handed you start use your left hand more. Got My Credit card shut down as someone was trying to use my account i tried telling them my hand writing had changed, had to take my birth certificate, passport and a proof of address. I
  2. Me name is thumbless, you can call me Davey. Lost my thumb in a work accident 3 years ago, as someone said it was just a nip. They wanted to cut off and stick on a toe, sucking my toe was gross and as i love walking, it was feck that for a game of soldiers. Reminded me of Kunta Kinte the African slave from Roots, They cut his foot off to stop him running away. They tried sticking the old thumb back on but the superglue did not work. Thanks for the information and amusement i have had on here as some of the bitching on here really made me smile. Usally i wait fo

  4. Think if you wantto be greedy you will have to buy a wheel barrow
  5. Loooks like Skrat out of the Ice Age. Get it stuffed. Not many sabre toothed bunnies going around.
  6. Thats what i thought at first Ferretlove. Which means taking it to the vet.
  7. looks like a trip to Magnums. Searched for ages but Magnum's is the only one that i found. Is there any body else that does them.
  8. Somebody mentioned Hazel branches, havent got any of them either. Just have to usepurse nets. :11:
  9. erm what a lovely pair. They look great, are ferretsgetting bigger these days or is it just me. :11:
  10. Whats the difference between a s200 and a S400. I know a s410 is a hundred quid dearer and a multishot but would a s200 do instead of a s400/s410. Have to find my price range, and what s the best tool for the job, i want rabbits and as i have no cover the longer the range the better.
  11. :11: I am a tight fisted Scotch Basstard and i have a long net somewhere still in its packet. Only poles i saw were at Magnums. Then i will have to learn how to use it. At the Game fairs you can buy a net basket so you can carry the lot. May take long netting seriously this season, had a look yesterday and everything is coverd in nettles, cleared a couple of branches to let my ferrets have a go but it was pissing down here today. The long netting poles do they have points or are they the same as tent poles, what about grommets.
  12. Just wanted to see the reaction as most of you have dogs in here. From now on i will keep them on the lead as i am leaving my self wide open. Earlier in the year a vet came to de-horn one of my cattle, he did not know where the entrance to the field was and asked a lady near by. He was told if he went on his land he would be shot, eg stray from the road/duirt track. Lets say i am treading carefully i am asking your opinion and i am also looking up the conditions for getting a FCC and they are very tight, if he carries on in this manner i wil be seing about getting his gun removed. Have le
  13. Some body else bought land off him and had a lot of problems with him. I have accces to my plot through his and its in black and white so there is nothing he can do about it. the dogs are Border collies and are used to sheep and cattle, they love to rake but the only thing they would catch is a Mixy rabbit.
  14. Think my dream gun is the AA S410. Any other contenders. Take it a Bipod is needed with what kind of scope. I used to dive so i got a couple of 12litre and 15 litre cylinders but they will be out of test date, How much for connecting hose and gauges. Dont think i would get a FAC as the ground is flat and open.
  15. I have 4 Border Collies. The cows are now out of the field in question and moved to new pasture. Lets say i have other issues with the farmer. He is not getting his own way .
  16. Oh well Simon. I see some people think you are shy. Remember 2 people ferret walking. They seem to of thought they would of been able to handle your ferrets and chat to you about ferrety things. :11: Hope you recoverd from your bug.
  17. Never read his books. Met him once he had a cat that could talk to you on his command. The kennels were a shit hole as the drainage in his property was crap and all the shit and pish ran to the field next door when the pound was hosed down. As for the post box the farmer whose fence line it was on pulled it up and it now lies at the side of the fence as you go up the drive. They did f**k all about the drainage till they were reported to the enviromental health and were forced to put in a new sceptic tank. This was when he put a Fence around his property. Plummer may be dead but his wife s
  18. Nice Poley Markings and i like the other Fuzzies too.
  19. Went to the Dumfries and Galloway show yesterday as other half won some free tickets at Scone. Saw Simon Whitehead "Simple Simon" with his Pakefield ferret display. It wasnt raining so his hat and Camo gortex jacket came off, half way through it started pissing and the hat and jacket came on again. Maude made an appearance. Thourighly enjoyed it and one o me dogs had her eyes on one of those motorised revolving decoys with a rabbit on each arm as it revolved. Hope he made it home safely as he had a 8 hour drive to get home. And by the way my ferrets are pamperd pets. Think he will have
  20. Yup Captain Scarlet :11:
  21. Hope so. I keep mine in with the Jills all year round and he is a happy Bunny.
  22. Some people think and hope this is a wind up
  23. Its a biggish needle, but very sharp, so doesnt hurt too much, the chip is about the size of a grain of rice, and is like a small glass capsule. It is inserted between the shoulder blades of the dog, so it lies in the trough and shouldn't be able to slide down away from that point. Cost varies from vet to vet or some councils will run free schemes, seen from £7-25 so worth asking around. U will get a form back from petlog with the chip and dog details, that can be passed to new owners.
  24. Got a Border Collie who is a bout a year and a half old. She is on hard food but built like a skeleton, other dogs are fine. Whats the best way to get some meat on her bones.
  25. My Border Collie Bitch is in the same boat, she got caught twice today, she's a year old and her 1st season. What made me jealous was she jumped up wagged her tail and ran about like a loony, think she's a hussy. I will phone the vet tomorrow and get her speyed when she is out of season. Thanks for warning me about the jabs i will phone 3 vets for quotes before making my decision. :welcomeani: :welcomeani: :welcomeani:
