    As you say the Moira Event is NOT run by the BASC - BASC run Ballywalter. Moira is run by a professional company who appear to put very little back in prizes. Shanes Castle has the best prizes for all the countrysports! Moira is OK but the Terriers & Lurchers are hidden away from the main Fair and the stands at Moira are mainly craft stands. AND the BEST Terrier Event is definitely the Shanes Castle Event with the All Ireland Terrier and Lurcher Championships, the best prizes by far, the best race track , the fact that we are not stuck away in a back field but have ring side park

    Ballywater? Where's that mate? Its an hour from Belfast I left it out on purpose as it is a really poor show run by the NLRC and the game fair itself is also terrible few stalls poor choice on food. Defintely do not drive from Wexford the best show and game fair in Northern Ireland is Moira NCF run by the BASC. The Moira Event is NOT run by the BASC - BASC run Ballywalter.     The Irish Game and Country Fair at Birr Castle is on the 22nd/23rd August 2009. See www.irishgameandcountryfair.com Apart from one of the best race courses for lurchers in the country the whole estate is open to the family ( normally costs €10) and Terrier & Lurcher men get in both days for the price of one if they pay in advance. It has one of the best range of gun & tackle stands in the country and defintely the top prizes for gundogs, clay shooting, fishing and terriers and lurchers. It is organised by the same team who run Shanes Castle on the 27th/28th June 2009 www

    there is a big one in westmeath in july 17th and 18th i think the same organizers as moira in co down There is an Irish Country Fair with Terrier & Lurcher Show at Barryscourt Castle, Cork on the 18th &19th July

    Show Florenceourt Country Fair, Florencecourt, Co Fermanagh 24 May Terrier & Lurcher Show and Racing Organised by the Mid Antrim Terrier Club Mid Antrim Terrier Club will also be running Ireland's premier two day shows at : The Irish Game Fair, Shanes Castle, Antrim 27th/28th June 2009 - 21st All Ireland Championship with English Judges Neil Stobbart, Co Durham and Michael Ellard. and £1,400 worth of prizes including a £400 Barbour Coat for the Championship.     Well done Tracy with Renoir Well done Janet with Vixon Ballywalter wasn't bad in spite of the mud. Roll on Shanes Castle 27/28th June www.irishgamefair.com for the 21st All Ireland Terrier & Lurcher Championships with one of the best racing courses in Ireland and £1,400 in prize money. Two good English judges this year. AND Terrier and lurcher men ( and women) get in two days for the price of one if the tickets are purchased in advance.
