  1. id say you had a job tryin to seperate them two? fine terriers
  2. similar to me last year had the odd 1 or 2, but this year we had i think either 6 in 4 outings or 8 in 6 outings from cover, and this was the start of the season when cover was thick... no guns just terriers. and as for whoever said above about marks on dogs, our dogs havent really been sore this year the terriers have caught and dealt with them well enough and havent had hardly any marks on them. weve had more foxes from cover this year than earths it wasa good season for us untill transport fecked us up a few weeks ago edited to say i have been out more than 4 or 6 times just befor
  3. wait til 3? the dog is feckin 10 years old,he'd wana get the finger out and breed em now, take a chance for f ck sake i understand your reasoning bud. if the bitch is not fully developed then he should wait. missing the opportunity of using the sire would in my eyes be better than harming the bitch. admittedly she IS capable of pupping well before 3. she will be more mature(mentally and physicly). point taken, but we cant be perfect all the time, hes waited a long time to get a good bitch and shes hunting away so the stuff is there.

  8. you just do what you can, some fellas are breeding dogs for years, some are starting out and might not know anyone to get a pup off.everyone has different standards, the fellas giving out about shite goin around obviously have super dogs and have never put a foot wrong themselves,my hole, its not what you know its who you know, they were well taught.
  9. biggest load of bolaks iv seen so far, well done mate like i said if your talking terriers ive worked russells from more than one strain borders crossbreeds lakies for over thirty years above and below. and havnt seen a terrier that could tie my big plummer bitches lace on top. she is like a small hound. i got the plummers as a challange as i was fed up doing the same old same old. with the earth dogs. and wanted to see for myself what this breed had to offer. so from personal experience i can honestly say that after trying other breeds and plummers. i am able to compare what
  10. alot of bird men kept them one time for cats that was one use, other than that they were useless. the old type was meant to be a good dog, they were blue in colour, real blue, not the black shit that was later bred out of poodles.id stay away from them if i was you
  11. Ok so you say they dont dig on. I accept that BUT what do you do when the fox has squeezed on and on. Pushed so hard he is up a hole size of your fist and your dogs shoulders are still stuck further back down the hole. I would like to have a day with you and your dogs. This is not an attack post. I am purely saying in my short digging carrer I have had to open up a couple of holes on a few occassions where dog is stuck and is trying to get on. Either where you live you only have big enough holes, your dog must be narrowest dog going, or you just hunt very fat foxes. Please do not take this as
  12. wel actually a friend of mine had a sheep dog a few year ago that barked on foxs through cover a collie will hunt mad bud and a good wheaten will go through any cover,we had one before and he"d hunt away with the terriers no bother, but they dont bark and youd lose them fast.youd want to know the area before you let them go,if you knew there was no game around you could.
  13. its best to let them find the rat ,but if theyres no rats around giving them a caught rat is alright seen it make dogs myself
