  1. right lads ,yee can take the fingers outa jonnnys hole now six pages of shite
  2. Wheatens were bred extensively over here for one purpose Badger Trials and were used extensively for just that. Not for messing at holes pulling out foxes or running through brambles like a fairy after rabbits.People on this site can try and dress them up any way they like and tell us what his coat is like and what height he is and i hope mine is good with the cat and i hope he wont be naughty.A proper bred Wheaten was bred to go up a shore and do his duty.A proper bred Wheaten will fight until he kills or is killed. That defines him as a game dog.Aeron I presume when you say there is only one
  3. So is this dog a terrier? put it like this, my dog is a beddlington, with a bit of whippet... this means it is a beddywhippet, which comes under the lurcher class...Surely once a dog has sight hound in it, it is classed a lurcher... I f a bull terrier is crossed with a whippet or greyhound, it becomes a bullx lurcher.. Is this why she acts and walks like a lurcher on the sets, and why she is smart and fast, because she is a lurcher? I know it is confusing, this is why i am asking, cant work it out, what do you lot think? id call it a mongrel, but then again all lurchers ar
  4. Don't agree with that one bit. A child friendly dog should move away from the kids if it's had enough, and shouldn't ever be in a position where it can't do so. a dog is a dog and it dont matter how child friendly he is cant be trusted 100 percent fact
  5. how exactly do you measure prey drive?

  8. spade you wana be badly stuck to be usein a shovel out diggin.
  9. small terriers are ok for hunting rabbits but you want a bit of leg for foxes, somethin that wont come back after five minutes.and you want a dog that gives a bit of tonuge so your lurcher can watch the break.terrier/springer is the way to go.even a quater of gun dog in a terrier is enough.
  10. To be honest hog dog ,i think your talking out your hole, endurance was not a quality required for baiting? thats why all the trial lads walked their dogs every night and had them hard as rocks is it? or was it just to make them look well? LOOKS NEVER MADE A DOG. If you know what you're talking about then you and I have a different view of what endurance is. im not the one lamping with a bull terrier bud,all the best

  12. Have you done much work with an ingles Bull? no but i bet they wouldnt be a patch on a good terrier/spaniel.
  13. bull terriers that worked badgers in the past would never be allowed to hunt with terriers in the cover for the simple reason that they would cling on the terrier if they got excited,if your looking for a hunting dog, a real hunting dog,you need to look for something different, imo ,a spaniel cross.
  14. everyones gona be an expert on the trials after this comes out
  15. Im the dull c**t, ye ok mate a fukin terrier is bred for bushing, ratting, going to ground etc, whys the springer needed, everyones managed ok so far ffs. nose and stamina.people have been crossing terriers and spaniels for years.people who actualy hunt and know a bit about dogs

  17. i just read neils post about a dog being sold to the states for $2000???? no wonder dogs are getting robbed with clowns paying that kind of money for a dog There was a time when you could leave your dogs out the back without a worry,it seems to me that too many people are getting caught up with all the hype and the books and the bullshit and are handing over big money.
  18. iknow a fela who went into a halting site with a hatchet and got his dog back, this is only one case in many where the owner got some justice, usually the rats get away with it
  19. do they go to ground? i think i saw a show about them years ago and they drove a badger out of its sett by annoying it,not 100% as it was a long time ago.
  20. pom/russell x whippet, i kid you not he was an absolute screamer through cover i belive ya,them poms would hunt away,we dug out a pom with a half wheaten one day.we had some laugh we thought it was a fox at first,it must have belonged to the farmer.our own dog didnt touch him which was suprising since he was fairly mental.
