Imam on building one now wooden kennel with 2 compartments insulated with new insulation that is mention to be the same as 50 mm kingspan and it is also going to have a reptile heat mate under the floor and shredded paper bedding al put up some picks when I get a bit further on

A ticking clock in it's bed sometimes works coz it is like a hartbeat I also used to chuck a stone at the side of the kennel so it banged all I have to do now is pretend to pik p a stone

Also. While out keep calling her in and putting her back on her lead and walk for a minute and then let her off again that will stop her thinking when the lead goes on it's time for home

It depends on the dog we have had labs that have went out butbi have a staff that crys if he is left in the garden to long never mined in a kennel If in is going in with a new pup it might settle but they both might wine for a bit just warn your naibours befor you do it
