I will be returning from Sicily Mid September (working as Gamekeeper / Falconer) and I'm looking for weekend or night work , maybe thu fri sat. Will do almost anything , I just want to try to avoid stacking shelves in some store........................ Thanks for an leads........

I would agree , a books good but if you can get out seeing it in practice , so much more will make sense. If you do plan to get a bird , take your time , listen to advice , but like what you see on the telly with doctors ....get a second opinion!! Good luck finding someone to show you the ropes.

It's something that I feel is never discussed , mostly cos folk have kids! If supervised properly and of a decent age I have no problem with it. You do however have to wonder sometimes when you see pics of a 5 yr old holding a large raptor. Will have to do a bit of digging to see the laws regarding this . Having done some display work etc it is something I have discussed before with colleagues, you see it all the time now at fairs etc , a wee midget with a HH on its head , matter of time before something goes wrong , it has and it will ......................................

Well here I am , new to the site. I hope to read some interesting stuff. Hopefully I will have something to contribute also. I am 31 , have been a Falconer for years , presently doing my last week in Wales as an Aviculturist and returning to Scotland after that. I grew up on the outskirts of Glasgow , as a kid I spent a lot of time in the woods and on the hills fishing , hiking etc. I hope to get work in February , my plan is to go to University , all I have to do is pay off some debts.
