Right this really will be my last post on this subject (collective sigh of relief from board) as some of the ridiculously ignorant comments and short sightedness of some posters have raised my blood pressure to a point where I could chase the dragon myself.......However i shall refrain. Methadone is not the solution ('scuse pun). Its worse. It doesn't cure you it just placates you. Yes I have had a friend who died indirectly from shite (Not heroin). he was an intelligent, unselfish loving father. who never stole, never told of his addiction other than to his wife and never harmed anyone. Most never knew of his problem. He was a good man 'till they day he died! You would never have known he was an addict. Those that spout off about "skags" and the like only see it from their own selfish viewpoint. They aren't all needlefreaks on street corners! rgds Swampy ning

Just read a few more comments from folk now that I'm back from walking pup. Some of you guys should learn to read. Every country in the world that has set up "shooting galleries" has seen a massive reduction in petty theft, street crime, violent crime AND drug addiction rates. Switzerland used to be as right wing as some of you clowns. Since they decriminalised heroin and crack the crime rate has gone down by 40%. Fair enough swampy you are entitled to your opinion. But I think the government is going about it the wrong way. There is enough help out thre for them help out there for them they are given methadone and put into rehabilitation centres they are given places to live, they are benefits and even have people in the job centre looking to find them employment.
