Don't want to upset folk about this one. I'm not a farmer or a keeper of poults etc but I do think that these birds are magnificent creatures that have every right to be here and do what they do naturally. This place would be the lesser for not having them. Where I'm from we have Red kites. I have been told that they only eat carrion, however, I've seen them take a hare and have the pic to prove it which I'll dig out and post for those who wish to see it. IMO every case is different, I know good lads that have been on that shit and have got off it, I now see some of them quite often, good lads they are. I wouldn't trust anyone of them when they were using though, but if they make the effort to put a stop to being a smackhead and change then I'll give them the chance. Possibly. But it wouldn't be enough! The oil companies have already signed up to contracts changing them wouldn't be too much of an issue although I suspect that scotlands bargaining power wouldn't be as strong. Either way you cannot poosibly base your whole economy on oil forever. Look at what has happened in the middle east. It is their only source of income and the cracks are starting to show.
