Good question.One that I'd like to know the answer to aswell. I carry a 6" fixed blade sheath knife in my toolbox in the car all the time. I have been told that carrying it in the course of carrying out your legitimate duties/business is not a crime. If they searched my tool box they'd have a job to nick me for it. This was from a PCSO in our village. He's seen me with it out with my ferts and dog on a number of occasions and said nowt but I don't know whether this view would be that of others in the constabulary. Thats all well and good, what about the victims and their families who dont believe in that pish but want to see justice served. Name and shame, then let the community sort them out is the best method IMO, offering anonymity and protection to scum like this is shamefull. Personally I believe he should come. His mistake was not to punish the crimes that were committed that he knew of. But lets be honest. Who actually knows exactly what happened inside the Vatican? I suspect no one will ever know. Child abuse in any form is perpetrated in all walks of life not just the church. It has been happening since man walked this planet. Probably get some shite for this, especially Catcher ( ). However, the police are only acting on information given to them. They'd have had to apply to the court for a warrent. Now they are only doing what they are obliged to do. I do think they could probably have said lets go round and have a quick "chat" with the owners of the dogs and come to a reasonably intelligent assumption as to what the dogs were for.
