Malt is right (oh how that hurts an Englishman to say about a Welshman.....ps good result for Tigers eh?!) It is not what the hams did its how it was reported. However at least this time they stuck their hands up and admitted an error rather than try and cover it up! We do not know what the brief was when they went in...........Perhaps there was more than one motive to go in? Who knows? Sympathy to the family, thanks to the men who tried and sympathy to the man who made a mistake under extreme duress...........Hopefully lessons will be learnt and we can move on without the blame culture, fi

10 yrs in the BAF and you're an expert? As for writing sh*te? At least I didn't pass judgement on anyone before knowing all the facts. My mistake......Didn't realise there were so many experts on tactical warfare on here. You've obviously got inside information on the whole exercise or perhaps you were there yourself? You must be worried about leaking information like that! No matter waht your political stance on Afghanistan is do you honestly think that its OK to trivialise something as personal as someones death? A little knowledge is a dangerous thing ning Swampy

Ok going to be contraversial here...........I'm NEVER one to support the ham shanks but lets put this in to context here. You've got a group of guys trying the damnest to save a lass who arguably shouldn't have been there.....Its a fire fight your adrenalin is busting veins and you have got no idea waht you're up against. Mistakes will happen in a fluid environment like that. They are surprisingly very few and far between. They didn't do it deliberatley and they will have to live with it for the rest of their lives. The bottom line is that a small minority of ejit fanaticals put that poor wom

Somehow I just knew you'd miss the point SGS. Good on ya for being patriotic and all that. But get real. Almagrahi was arrested, charged, tried and sentenced in Scotland. He was also released on compassionate grounds by the Scotts. You've got some chairman of a senate committee "outraged" because our politicians refused to give evidence at a hearing that was predominately set up, to tie BP into a case of oil for prisoners. How dare the U S of A question the sovreign right of another state?! I'm no fan of the Scotts for many reasons but by hell have they got this one right! If they want to qu

Not quite back but in the ether man! Gotta stop listening to the news.driving me mad. You wait folks. BP will prove that it was a catostrophic human error by some poor american who sadly lost his life, so the white house (ohhh the irony of that name!) will then blame Alkaida......11/9 and the WTC revisited methinks! Ninging at the speed of light in a conspiratotrial manner. rgds Swampy ps I bet Donk has something to say on this one!

At the risk of upsetting a few decent ham shanks................ Since when has America had the god given right to "summon" our politicians and servants of the queen, to america to answer questions about something that was passed by our law and judicial system. I am not interested in whether Almagrahi is innocent or guilty. The decision was made in law and we are not answerable to the good ol u s of a! Not only that! They are banging on about how they are going to hold BP to account over the oil blow out which was probably their fault anyway but waht did they do when Union Carbide chemical p

Awite Nik Done! And I would encourage everyone else to do the same. Dont let the antis hi jack the tag. Keep it clean and non offensive as we don't want our voices removed. Rgds Swampy Ninging in parliament

C'mon Catch. You lot still talk about "that" Archie Gemmil goal. Reminisingning Now that was a great goal.......on a par with maradonnas At leat your man used his feet! jeez I hate footy! Aren't England playing a test match in the southern hemisphere with a proper shaped ball? rgds Swampy PS Catch I'm as pissed off as you with '66. How long ago do you have to go back to feel pride? The English RFU won the world cup and even I can remember that through my cider addled head! 66? I was two FFS! Ruckning

FGT. You never fail to amaze me. And each time my respect for you increases! I shall take your best wishes in the manner in which they were proferred. With deep gratitude. I do suspect that if it were the "real" sport of rugby you might not be so forthcoming but that is a real game. Thanks Tommy.........and to be honest I suspect that we are going to need all the help we can get! PS Calling a scott "tommy" just doesn't sound right..............I'll stick to FGT methinks. Bestest regards Swampy "ENGERLANDNING"..............Oh how I dislike that phrase, so demeaning!

I'll dig out the e-mails from BSA...........when I finish this cider and sleeeeeeeeeep. Long night out with little to show. I think the rabbits know the weather is changing. Cold and stung to bits by nettles. Shy rabbits and and a cloudy sky. Three in an hour. Not good. I'll post about the bolt later Happy hunting Cheers Swampy A cideresque ning -
Poor lass doesn't understand. Red Hair AND shorts!......Good job it was waaaaaayyyyy away from my local. I'd have had the back ripped out of me for years to come. Nice One! I've got the 22 version. Superb bit o' kit tho from an aesthetic point of view why did they have to put a silver bolt on it? I've asked BSA and they have a prototype black job out soon I believe. I quite fancy the same gun in timber as opposed to the tactical but again I'm being picky. Nice one again! rgds Swamy FOUR.................ning -
Awww sheite. They're my bloody shades too! They're definately NOT my line in shorts tho' before any of you smart asses start having a pop. Personally I think it could be the way forward for the young 'uns. Crocs, Hot pants and dude shades. If it gets 'em out there, why not? Thanks for the comments changing my wardrobe for next session ning

OK so my Blue finally got the better of me and made me take her out with the gun. Awesome w/e of sunshine so I fancied a bit of sitting in the sun with a cold tinny or three of cider. Hunkered down in my favorite spot, a ditch behind a dry stone wall in view of three warrens. 20mins later and my girl spots two. A bit far off for my liking but me being the soft touch gave her first shot. So she's lying prone with MY T10. I've guestimated at aiming bang on the hairs as I've set the sights high on my gun (don't ask why, I like a bit of air). Gave her the nod to aim for the head. So she squeeze

Dem dare skis are like wicked innit blah. In fairness the ones that do wear them are probably the ones that don't have any permission. I don't fancy getting chased off the land by some irate keeper wearing a pair of hunters and moleskins. The footwear of choice for the poacher has got to be tracky bottoms and flyers! rgds Swampy wearing his summer collection of nings!
