  1. Thanks guys. It was a lovely day, and I surely will remember this successful stalk! Hutchey, it was not that hard to remember what to do. The hard part was to actually do it, as there seems to be an ocean of difference between knowing what to do, hot to do it etc, and actually doing it...
  2. t has been a few weeks since my last visit to my syndicate's ground in Scotland, and finally last week I made arrangements so I could do so today. I arrived at 07.30. It was a very cold (-3) morning, but the beautiful winter scenery made up for it. Sunny as it was, it was a good day to fully explore the capabilities of my new Zeiss Rangefiner binoculars. So I was using them more often than usual (a good thing, of course) during my progress through the ground. I might have gotten a bit carried away with my new toy, as I caught myself shifting my attention to my new toy maybe a bit more than I s
  3. I clean mine every 150 shots or so. Just run the brush with napier gun oil a couple of times and it is fine. I have tried using patches but the problem is I can never get the patch at the right size (I have to use .22 patches cut in half or so) and makes my life hard. I tried using a boresnake but the problem I had was that the brass end was a bit too big (on the 3 different boresnakes I tried) which made it impossible to fit. I returned these and bought the brush...
  4. I recently bought the Zeiss Victory RF 8x56 T* Rangefinder Binoculars, and I was looking for a harness to make carrying them easier. I could not find a Zeiss branded one. The closest 'upgrade' I found was the Zeiss Air Cell Comfort Binoculars Strap (Zeiss Air Cell Comfort Binoculars Strap - Binocular Accessories at Binoculars). What do you guys use? Is there a harness that will do the job reliably? (I do not fancy having my expensive new toy slip off some nasty cheap harness/strap) Many thanks! P.S: What about something like that, or that maybe? Anyone has experience on these?
  5. I use this V90 pouch and works well. for what they cost for 12 months protection they are not bad...
  6. No problem. I usually go on Fridays. I think all I need to do is sign you in...
  7. Yes it has been a great year. I notice you're a member lf MRPC, unfortnately I didn't renew my membership this year due to lack of funds. It's a bit of a trek for me too for the 25m of indoor range where I can only use my air rifle. A great place to get zero'd up though and if you're into .22LR target shooting it's bob on. Good people and a nice friendly atmosphere Yes, indeed! Well, if you ever want to shoot there again you can come as my guest. I think I can bring a guest as many times as I want free of charge,l so let me know and I will be happy to accommodate. I do shoot a .22lr t

  10. Hi all. If there are any FULL members of the MBWA please could you make yourselves known to me either by pm or here? I need some help and would be very grateful to hear from you. Thanks!
  11. Same here. A brush, a patch and some oil at the end is all I use.
  12. Hallo all. I have ordered a gralloching DVD online but it now looks like the dvd will not be here before I set off for Scotland on Friday. I had a look on youtube but there seem to be so many videos, and I feel I am not able to tell the difference between a good and a bad technique. As I do not want to start by learning the wrong way, I was wondering if someone could point me to the right direction. The DVD I ordered is the BDS one, I know it is supposed to be the best, this is why I went for this. But now I need a solution untill it arrives. The problem is I am going stalking on my own (the f

  15. I think studying for DSC 1 offers very useful and important insight of stalking and definitely is worth having.

  17. Enough with these people. Seriously. They have taken turns on all the hunting sites scamming people. Just call the police on them and may they end up where they belong: Jail!
  18. It was Malmo. Fawcetts was not that expensive. Steve (the owner at Fawcetts) just did not have all three guns and John (owner at Malmo) did.
  19. Hallo all My father in law (living abroad) has a .22 lr passed on to him from his father. He now wants to give the rifle to me, which makes me very happy. If anything, the rifle is of sentimental value as I do not think it is worth much. My problem is that I do not currently have a FAC and I need to get one. I am aware that there are two ways I will be granted a FAC. Join a shooting club or get land permission. The former is something I will do, but I was advised that there is a 6+ months probation period before I am accepted as a member and thus been allowed to apply for a FAC. The latter is
