come on lads there must be someone with a bit of knowledge on them, or is it the younger generation are so smitten with the bullx or salukix they no nothing about them, time will tell
-
all right i will keep it fairly simple is there any minshaws in ireland and more importantly how well ARE THEY DOING ,a good friend of mine is very interested in them, but i could not say for sure, because you here nothing about them from our irish friends.do they suit there landscape or whats there honest opinion of them, i hope a few irish lads might contribute to this,
-
back in my years when I hunted with the likes of Vic Minshaw, we used to take some terrible chances. but it seems today the younger guys are a little bit more nervous, probably they have good reason to be. you asked about permission, from what i know you are supposed to carry permission with you at all times but i could not be sure on that. i think quiet honestly things have quietened down over here considerably as i have not heard of any body being stopped recently at all, so i think things are gone quiet again.

to be brutually honest the best of dogs have prey drive, iam ex army and they really only pick dogs with high prey drive, prey drive mostly comes from dogs with long history of parents from working background, and its a great asset if its harnessed properly

I HAVE READ MOST TOPICS ON MINSHAWS DOGS, AND THEY NEARLY ALL END IN SLAGGING MATCHES OF ONE SORT OR ANOTHER,HOW LONG BEFORE THIS ONE STARTS,BUT FOR WHAT ITS WORTH I DO NOT THINK MINSHAW IS TAKING SERIOUSLY IN THE COURSEING CIRCLE, THE WAY HE WAS IN LAMPING CIRCLES, I THINK HE MAY OF HAD HIS DAY

proper order mate

lads i am well impressed with the knowledge that has come out about the dogs ,there are lads on here that know there stuff ,if possible try keep to the breeding of who and were they may have ended up,there will be one or two that will try bring it to a slagging match, try not to be drawn in,TOUGHGUY ounce again you hit the nail on the head with N DALE,BLACK ASSASIN you mention CHALKY any ideas what way his breeding went
-
toughguy , some years i was in discussion with a mr dale from london area,he at that time told me he bought some a very good hare dog from ireland. He didnt mention off who? , but he reckons at that time there was nothing to touch it on the coursing field. Before Preban. I know he gave services from his dog to a few of the top coursing men at that time. Would you have any knowledge of this dog, i think the dogs name was Lucky.
-
lads i think you may be a bit of track here, while wheatens play a big part in our lurchers, i was really trying to find out about the good dogs past and present, who bred them, and were good dogs consistent with the same breeders.i firmly believe that most of our top dogs here in the uk have some type of irish blood in them,as is the irish dogs would havesome type of english blood in them ,the point is by working together we can produce some excellent sporting dogs
-
BRYAN i feel you are trying to bring down a good topic,i commend you for your loyalitys to your country, but may i point out you were the only one to mention courseing DEER , the rest of us are happy enough to discuss the breeding of the dogs.TOUGHGUY you seem to be a man with good knowledge on the courseing,do you still keep dogs, and would i be correct to assume you were at the top of the courseing world in your day
-
i was wondering when SOUNDERS side kick was going to appear.BRYANyour never to far from your master,HEEL BOY HEEL.in case your finding it hard to keep up BRYAN,we are mostly refering to some of the great dogs that have passed and possibly present
-
ROOKYHUNTER TODDY i s your question did anyone ever hear of a dog called GROWLER
-
if MUCKYPAWS or any of the irish lads know who bred IRISHLADY could you let s know
-
SOUNDER is that the only input you can put into this topic, by threatening to delete because you did not get your own way, its suprising what power in the wrong hands can do,coming from a military back ground,i have seen it far to often, try not to bring this down with your stupid comments
-
thanks for reply MUCKY PAWS, could anyone tell me who bred IRISH LADY
-
i have heard of paddy sweeney, not sure what dogs he bred, could you name one or two if possible all the best.
-
i heard when j goulding was going strong he also had dogs from mr king,it looks like alot of our good lines apeared from across the water
-
i am pretty sure there are a few hunting men who must of known mr king from our side of the water, one of them was willie tuff, and i am told he kept some good stuff, was mr kings breeding in any of his dogs, some of the courseing men should know and may like to comment
-
now TYLA i take what your saying, would this also apply to HANCOCK,NUTTAL ,DOHERTHY etc etc
-
I started a topic on hare dogs that may have come from Ireland, It has been closed due to the fact that apprently hare coursing in ireland is banned. I didnt wish to start any type of arguements, but i do believe that a few people were starting to get interested in the topic, including myself. I know alot of good dogs have come from Ireland, and was just wondering do they come from the kennels. Mr king has been put forward as one of the best men to bred good dogs in Ireland, and i do believe that a lot of his breeding is here in the UK, although possibly underneath annoyomus name. you may have taken me up wrong,i did not wish to offend anyone,it was just an honest question meant the right way -
now i do not wish yo offend any of our hunting friends, but is there any one over in ireland breeding any good hare dogs,i do not here much in the way of arranged matches as it was in the uk, is it just kept that bit more quiter,i do know they breed a game dog, is it just what they prefer
