just a comparison ----if you get it for free 200 quid or a grand theres no guarentee weather a working bred pup will spew or not .........i`ve paid good money and had freebies thats spewed --- everyone seems to look for a short cut to success these days --- put a few year into it and breed your own best way--- keep or cull You're right there stig, only thing I've found over the years is the lads who breed for themselves, gift or cull usually keep decent stuff & are not motivated by money. Can't say that for the lads who regularly sell whole litters often using the 'just to cover expenses o

Cant see how the prices of pet dogs has anything to do with working dogs, would the £200 for the '15yr companion' be as good value for money if you'd spent 2yrs rearing only for it to spew? The pup looks a cracker anyway & I thought it would be gone by now also, he's the double of my russell I bought 9yrs ago. That was the last pup I ever paid for

On a shoot doing fox drives, keeper had invited some wankers who had terriers with them. Halfway through a drive I noticed padmarks in the snow entering a little rabbity place. I knew another dog would get the chance so I dropped my 14 month fell in & asked a walking gun to stand, we were 50yds from finishing. Dog was on in seconds, dug a shovel depth through to the dogs back. One of the wankers tried to help & drew my terrier by his back legs, I had a go at him as the dog seemed to have hurt his back. My first attempt at offroading was in a heavily modded 90......I got it stuck, upto the axles & no chance of getting out without assistance. The 90 pickup that pulled me halfway out broke a halfshaft, felt a bit of a twat ruining the blokes day but someone else had a spare & with help (not mine) he was soon playing again. The lad who's defender I was in showed me how it was supposed to be done & had me shitting myself at times
