  5. :11: :11: Just a .243 with a 65Grain vmax homeload. Doesn't usually do that much damge but this one got opened up a bit too much, At least it died quick though........Not that they usually die slowly when the Vmax's connect
  6. Decided to go foxing tonight even though the weather reports didn't look good. My mate picked me up at 9 o clock but i still wasn't ready Finally left at about quarter past 9 and got to the first field just before half nine. Unlocked the gate, got rifle ready and drove through. Spotted a set of eyes immediately which were just over 100 yards away in some long grass. I tried to coax the fox out of the long grass with some squeaks but he was having none of it and just sat tight. The wind was in my back and as i started calling another set of eyes appeared behind the hedge in the next field app
  7. Well done Frank keep it up !!!!
  8. I guessed that the shotgunners had probably had a go at the fox but why the filter if it doesn't make any difference to a lampshy fox? just wondered why use a filter at all Shooting easy foxes is no fun at all but it has to be done and i know which i'd rather shoot
  9. I find filters don't work with lamp shy foxes, I personally prefer no filter. Just don't put the beam directly onto the fox until your ready to take the shot. Works for me anyway and makes recognition easier at range
  10. What about the fox that scarpered
  11. Well done Foxhunter. Pity about the other fox though, does someone else shoot the ground or is it one you have missed ?

  15. I found this site through one of Franks posts on PW so i thought i would join and say hello. I'm 36 live in the midlands and shoot mainly foxes, rabbits and deer. I do a bit of shotgun shooting but not as much as i would like I currently own a .22, a .17hmr, a .22/250 (which needs rebarreling), and a .243.
