Some good reading on this blog https://thepamplonapost.com/2015/09/09/the-dangerous-summer-editors-article-in-the-telegraph/

Looking at the card above Gnasher I'd only be interested in going on the 7th, 10th,11th,12th and 14th. They're the bulls and men I'd like to see. If I was running I'd be looking for the fattest lamest lines of bulls out there. But Pamplona has sold out since Hemmingway wrote, The Sun also Rises. There's something about death and sex and sun and food and drink that's seems to be popular down through the ages.

So there's about 28 registered bloodlines, each with specific physical traits and "comportment" they call it, how the tend to behave in the ring. An average bull is about €15,000 which in a few weeks will be £15,000 But the good bull breeds will sell out stadiums the same as the best matadors. Supply and demand people will pay top dollar for the best performing bulls. But the value of a bull is from how it's herd is doing, which is based on how they preformed the season before or earlier the same season. The last few years the very best bull bloodlines have been Ymbro, Yeltes, Victorinos

Now they'll reach for a tourniquet if they can and tie off the bleeding and if they can stand at all they'll go back in because every appearance in Madrid will make or break a career. He goes back in and must finish what he's started.

Sobriquet???? what in the hell is...... google?....................right Tourniquet? That'd be used a lot. Here's Luis David Adame, he's a 17 year old apprentice and had his chance to make an impression in the main Spanish ring in Madrid last month. But on his first of 2 bulls of the afternoon he took too many risks trying to impress and make a name for himself and gets lifted by a leg.

The worst of the bull strains is the famous Miura, they're the bull depicted on Lamborghinis. They've killed and gored more matadors than any other line and lots of matadors won't face them. They're big and tall with wide horns and almost impossible for a shorter guy to get in over the horns to kill. They're also a bit "lacklustre or focused" and learn fast. With the lack of focus they're not always totally distracted by the cape and some of them quickly make out that the man and cape are separate and they're getting no joy from the cape. From the bull entering the ring it all las

  9. At the end of the day your an islamaphobe At the end of the day ISIS mostly murder muslims. We only care is someone else gets killed. The airport bombing hasn't been claimed yet and may have been by Kurds, western allies.
  10. I struggle to understand why the opinions of celebrities are given any weight? In the Brexit vote David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand where wheeled out for their opinion, not on how to beat Iceland, but on the fiscial and geopolitical relationship uk should have with a trading bloc, WTF. It blows my mind to think someones votes in an election or referendum could be swung by a celebrity? Today's pressing issue in Ireland is the annual attempt to ban it through a private members bill by and Dublin inner city politician, Dublin is having a very entertaining gangland feud between drug gangs kill

It's interesting how this echoes the language and sentiment of some of the responses on here? Some members have a shared view with Antis that they don't even realise. http://www.irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/ireland/gabriel-byrne-calls-on-tds-to-support-bid-to-ban-hare-coursing-742510.html
  12. This attitude that vets are only in it for the coin? What's that all about? Are Plumbers not in it for the coin? and doctors and carpenters, anybody? I've a good friend who's a vet. He does it for money. Is that a surprise????? For a vet the average starting salary is £31k after 10 years it mid £40's and that's a salary, the greedy b@stards, he's on call every second weekend and a few nights a week. Most people working at a vets don't make more if they do this or that to your dog. What usually motivates their decision is you, you're reluctance to dig into your pockets. And hassle,

It's very interesting, I'd agree with you that it has nothing in common with hunting but to all huge amount of people they'd see it just the same. It's number 3 on their list in that link and I'd imagine if people on here went down through the list some people would find things they'd ban or disagree with. You see it on here all the time, terriermen not agreeing with lamping fox with a rifle, rough shooters disgusted with trophy hunting. It's a funny old world. I was over in somerset with an Irish pack of beagles and we visited a Stag hound pack there, it was just before the ban and t

That sums it up fairly well the whole madness of it. 500Kg+ of Bull that can destroy you and a man trying to make it all look artistic and dangerous. It's insane.

Of course we don't need to do that. There's groups out there to stop that kind of thing. It's number 3 on their list here. http://www.banbloodsports.com/

The guy that was almost killed last sunday had the best day of his career earlier this year. He was with a Victorino Martin bull, these are the bulls everyone ants to go and see at the moment, probably the best line currently. Game, aggressive , very very fast to turn back on the matador and they keep charging. The matadors and the team with them are booked and paid on how they perform, they need to impress and take risks. The ballsiest move is to meet the bull running in on your knees, you can't run and you're gambling that'll go to the cape and not you. This bull hits the hor

Old Colluseum you say? Then you must head to Nimes in France. This is Jose Tomas again, he up against a Parlade strain of bull, this line is seen as not very agressive or very game, but they charge and keep on charging. This bull comes in and jumps over the 4 foot barriers after some people and scatters them, then Tomas goes out to it with just a cape, he gets it going sizes it up and uses just one hand so the target for the bull is smaller than the man. It charges from a long ways out to the horse but runs away quickly from the pick, not game, but the crowd expects great things

I hear you too and it isn't a straight forward thing to watch. You don't know if you're for the bull or the man or what. But people aren't there to torture or see the animal suffer. That's very easy to say I know, but this is a hunting site and most antis would say we hunt just to hurt and harm and see animals suffer. The killing and death can be rough, it can lasts from seconds for it to die to maybe 2 minutes. It's not an easy eating popcorn watch, But good or bad, it's fascinating. Some go to see and follow certain lines of bulls like we do patterdales or springers. The guy who get's

This gives some idea of the speed and size of the bulls, they're at least 5 years old ( Uk and Ireland kill our usually at 22 months, more humane I suppose) and 500Kg. The kid in green is 19. https://vimeo.com/159475030

Now I know this "going in over the horns" sounds like nonsense but that's how they roll. This was Sunday, he gets a torn femoral and saphenous artery, you bleed to death in less than 2 minutes. They've an emergency surgeon on site ( funny that?) guys are usually unconscious before they get on the operating table so they just cut down to the arteries and tie them off before giving an anaesthetic. https://vimeo.com/172245082

But that isn't what they do. Bull comes in untouched and meets a man who only has a cape. Nothing else. He turns it a few times. Then the Picador comes in on a protected horse. The bull is brought before the horse. If it doesn't charge the horse, doesn't keep it's charge going while it's hit into the hump of it's neck with a pick . Then it's taken out and it's all over. If the bull doesn't want to attack at this stage it's out, done, over , finito. That happened with 3 bulls in a row in Madrid a few weeks ago. If the bull goes lame, it's out, done finished. Then there's

If you've read this far then you should know about Jose Tomas. He believes in the Bushido code and the way of the Samuri and all that, that he says he can't fear death if he's to perform fully. Which of course sounds like bullshit until you see him do this. Same afternoon gored 3 times by 2 different bulls. https://youtu.be/7T66JUdHPBA
