  1. alot of Irish people will be strongly supporting man u or chelsea next week, it's not all just about anti british bias.but it is a bit of fun. I'm sure if it was celtic playing in some final and lost they'd be a few on here having a laugh and why not Bryan(struggling to decide which of man u chelsea i dislike least!)
  2. let hang and bang go then,at least he'd be unbeaten in the rings
  3. sawn off shotguns have always been very popular in Ireland Ditch, but never very legal Bryan

  5. you'll save 1lb with a v-mach ccylinder, makes the full lenght HW100 a very nice gun. the build is bombproof
  6. looks a working type? only problem i'd have is if i called a dog, Knick, my friends would call it Knickers
  7. i don't think you can give a day and a date when to breed from a bitch depends what her parents, grandparents have done, as importantly what her litter mates have done and again what pups from any previous litter have done. the sum total of the parts are as important as anything the bitch has done. also you can go through a season or 2 digging to a dog and never get a good test of them, just easy straight forward digs, it's important to recognise when the dog does get a test and then not pass off faults as "an off day" once you've bred in faults how are you going to get rid of them? Bry
  8. yeah if you can, terrier first then lead.also important to hit places hard when they are pairing up and after, if control is the aim.try and get the work done in "season" Bryan
  9. what calibre were you using? Bryan
  10. but the real ironic but beautiful is that the hunting act banned hunting with hounds, but not terrier work, made a few hounds people wake up i reckon
  11. we needed a few out crosses, too much banjo playing
  12. i would think the main difference is that most Britain has much greater shooting interests and control by game keeper. In Ireland it's more usually rough shooting with few birds put on the ground and less need for strict vermin control Bryan
  13. British Isles? you better tell those Cork boys you know they are British

  15. Sound lads , would be good maybe if people posted on basic digging topics for people starting out,or working away by themselves without any help or directions from others. 21. the first thing to do is pick up your dog as soon as you can after breaking through, can't be stressed enough. Handle the dog as soon as you can, if it's in holds make sure you won't injure the dog by pulling it, a breaking stick is probably the handiest way to do it when starting out. you don't want to pull a dog that the fox is holding! hold the dog securely and take it well away from the dig, holding it by the neck makes it more difficult for the terrier to catch it's breath and even cause them to faint.Tie the dog up well. check it over well for general condition, cold, wet, shivering.
  22. no Kay it's not right, but it's no worse than letting them die on the streets, but on the streets it is out of sight so easier to ignore Bryan
