  1. Why would an English or Scottish ban effect Ireland? In the North or the Republic? Separate countries, separate laws. Bryan
  2. Shovel, i can't see any reason or benefit for this "festival". Most people are going to be hunting, the greens have gotten an agreement to ban stag hunting during this term of government and the boys are going to eat cake and have a festival,WTF is that all about? I'm a member of the HAI but i don't agree with this at all. Bryan
  3. no idea Dotty, but it'll be sorted asap
  4. I would say that coursing is the most secure of all Irish fieldsports but it gives an indication, if it was needed of the greens intentions. Obviously Fianna Fail need them onside to get NAMA through so it might be worth sending a few small emails to any and every FF TD. Bryan http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/frontp...4255614249.html

  6. If both boxes aren't picking up the collar i would think it's the collar? have you put a LR 1 battery in the collar? you wouldn't be the first to put in the wrong battery in the collar Bryan
  7. sounds like your batteries are low and it's switched to pure analogue mode(if batteries are less than 10%)you can still find the dog in this mode, page 38 of the manual when you turn the D3 on in the send mode the number that comes up in the display is the battery level. Change all 3 batteries and give it a go. ATB,Bryan
  8. After a dig of any considerable length you should give the dog fluids, from a bowl or large syringe into their mouth. an isotonic drink is ideal. It's about there first thing you should do. keeping a dog fully hydrated after a long dig will reduce their heart rate and blood pressure to normal levels quickly, as well as stopping any bleeding more quickly. where a dog has incomplete lip seal or damage to their lips/chin they are more inclined to lose fluids and salts, and can quickly become dehyrated easily. 9. Best place to look would be the 19th century.......
  10. says no time to work it, but the pup is 4 months old?
  11. If i send cash, do you have change for a £50........
  12. the plastic sheath is so it can be washed in a dish washer, to keep it clean for working on meat your going to eat.
  13. I think i recognize one of those "Muppet" dogs? Bryan
  14. Hi Waidman, what is that test for?(just out of general interest) thanks Bryan
  15. Is the Valium for the guy driving to keep his cool at the border?
  16. I guess the other big issue is the pups need to be vacinated against rabies, then one month after, bloods must be tested for antibodies, then 6 months after that the pups can be imported. Is your friend going to hold the pups for 10 months? Thats a big problem for anyone i think the buyer and the seller, most would like to have done some bit of work, re call, stock breaking etc. etc. with a dog at that stage. Bryan
  17. Making Lurchers? some jadgs never stop barking, in the kennel,on a lead, in the car, in the field, not sure you need that in a lurcher. They are bred to drop In it's habits, the jadgs seems more like a teagle than a terrier and in Europe they seem to be less used for digging than patts or russels. They are first and foremost a pig/wild boar driving dog rather than a digging dog. Eric, vermin dog and a few more on here have access to the best ones in Europe but they don't want them or use them for digging, that has to tell you something? Bryan
  18. now i might be biased but the Barryvox Pulse is the top box. b+f got their new collar made by Barryvox so they might just agree with me as well Bryan
  19. If they think the shitty collar is worth keeping but they're glad to sell the dog you goto wonder what your buying.
  20. PCP's will out shoot springers 99.9% of the time with little or no effort, point and click. Springers are nice if you appreciate mechanical performance and managing recoil. I have a V mach tunned .177 HW77K and a HW100, it's just easier to shoot the pcp, even though both will do a single ragged hole with 10 pellets at 30 yards. Bryan
  21. I've replied Bud, sorry but terrier kit isn't the 9-5
  22. It's the public code of conduct and the politicans are happy with it so not too bad. As the public reference for digging in Ireland i think it's good. Bryan.
  23. the code; The following are the Rules and Procedures in relation to hunt terrier work of, and as observed by, all registered hunts engaged in Fox Hunting and affiliated to any of the following Associations: The Irish Masters Of Foxhounds Association The Irish Foot Harriers Association The Irish Masters Of Harriers Association General Principles Fox Hunting as a sport is the hunting of the fox in its wild and natural state with a pack of hounds. Nothing shall be done which in any way compromises or is inconsistent with this precept, notwithstanding that the fox is verm
  24. Just to say there is a code of conduct for terrier work in Ireland. It's been in place for well over 10 years and has been accepted by the government as acceptable. the anti's in Ireland have made repeated efforts to get the code of conduct written into law(so they could police and punish digging) but so far the ministers involved have stated they are happy with the voluntary nature of the code and are unaware of any breaches of the code.
